Small and amazing village on the state route to Lake Garda, coming from Mantua. It's a fraction of Monzambano. It's one of the best villages of Italy according to the World Heritage. We visited the village on a Tuesday morning of October, nice and sunny day. Amazing walk from the car park to the castle on the top. Full of nice houses or corners, nice osterias, beautiful view of the lake from the top. We couldn't visit the castle and gardens from inside because we needed to book in advance. It wasn't busy, the village and castle were built in the 12th and 13th century, amazing buildings, all together for an amazing hour walking. Absolutely recommended!!!

Only 11km from VsM but worth the detour. Unfortunately the gardens of the villa were already closed when we were there but we could see through the gate that is worth a visit.

Very small village to visit calmly, stopping to observe the details also thanks to the fact that it is not overrun by tourists. The pavement of the streets as well as the houses with stone walls are very beautiful.

Unapproachable lake, 2 euros per person because it is private to see little or nothing! Green water, it looks more like a pond and to make it all sad, the owners' dog is sad in a cage, with open cans of food thrown out. The village, however, is characteristic

Went on purpose to see the village and the lake, no indication, lake in fact closed and not visible, no one to ask, made a walk, saw a glimpse of the pond and .... Well they could if interested improve the possibilities for travelers

Small village considered among the most beautiful villages in Italy. There is little to see but still worth a visit. The castle is private and the pond can only be visited on weekends. But a walk through the streets is pleasant

On holiday on Lake Garda we decided to visit this small village, with its walls and bell tower still intact (except for the roof of the bell tower, destroyed by hail and therefore it was impossible to go up and visit it).
from inside the village, by paying 2 euros, you can access the lake area, where there is a beautiful garden and from where you can see the ancient walls.
The lake is heart-shaped, but since you can't climb the tower, you can't see it well.
The caretaker who gives access to the lake is very nice, he briefly tells you the history of the lake and adds some fun tidbits.
the visit is very short, because besides the park there isn't much else, but it is a very nice place.
There is also a bar and a restaurant where you can eat.

It 'a really very nice village .. not very big but beautiful with its architecture and a "heart-shaped lake" that we could not visit, like the Villa anyway, because during the week there are no guided tours!
A real shame for this Lombard rarity!

Well....maybe mine could be a biased review but it's not. Half a century ago we decided to get married away from the usual looks. And here it was, therefore, out of the region. Picturesque center bathed by a small lake. Quiet alleys where the Tourist Point of Sale remains marginalized. Spend a few moments in a dimension of other times. Worth a visit and maybe a stop in the few but romantic places.

A little gem of those that make you love Italy.
Not too beaten by tourist tracks yet, and that's the charm

Grazie.
Written 6 January 2017
