A very interesting visit to this park by an organised coach tour with an informative guide. Amazing views of the park, gorge and the reservoirs and the scenery during the tour. Quite an impressive day tour with rugged scenery and a final visit to a bodega for wine tasting with local cheeses and artisan foods.

Stunning part of Spain, unfortunately it looks likely to become a casualty of the drought in this part of Spain. Lots to do here in summer normally with things to hire and have fun in the water. It is very close to Caminito Del Ray walk which is very popular so parking in the area in limited to say the least ! Will be visiting again I'm sure

We went for the first time to Playa Ardales (Ardales beach) last year (2022) in July and the water was amazing and the nature around was extraordinary beautiful…
Now when we came back the water level was extremely low, there was sand where we used to swim and dead seashells and fish. There was only a small part with water that used to be playa Ardales.
Really sad that such a amazing place now looks like this

We come here year after year (apart from the C-word year!). Great to see they've invested some money in the park; smoother pathways, painted tables, more staff, more bins, cleaned up BBQ areas - great revamp. Entrance is via La Isla sign (after camp site) and costs 1.20 euros per person plus 1.60 per car - that's 6.40 euros for 4 people - bargain! Pedalo, SUP, kayaks all for hire - 14 euros for 1 hour for a kayak & SUP, 20 euros for a pedalo. Sun beds are 4 euros per person for the day. Park opens 10am, closes at 7pm. Bring your own food & drinks. For those that dare, cliff jumping is available at your own risk!!

One of my favourite places in all of Spain. Gorgeous scenery away from the droves of tourists at the coast. A number of places to hire kayaks from around the lakes….you just need to put the effort in and find them ;-)

A hidden gem we discovered on route to Caminito del Rey. Superb location, these natural lakes are a blissful recreation facility on hot summer days, with many kayaks and pedalos available for hire. there are numerous wooden tables and benches under the shade for picnics. Kids will love it, Charges are reasonable so won't break the bank for large families.

Went with friends who had warned us in advance to wear good walking shoes.it is a great place to visit if you are fit and like walking, it is very picturesque, however take drinks and be prepared for a strenuous day out, we enjoyed the experience very much.
Do NOT go if you have difficulty with walking

As a family we travelled to Ardales. There is a huge lake there and it’s well organised too. They have pedalo’s, paddle boards and kayaks etc and sun beds to hire. It is a beautiful setting and very picturesque. We all swam in the lake which was very clean and a beautiful colour. There are life guards all around too. Great relaxing day out if you don’t fancy the beach.
