This museum has been updated, with several illustrations of battle scenes, which My kids aged 8 and 11 understood, and it made the visit a much more interresting visit than I had hoped for. For kids, it made the A1 Hill visit afterwards a bit easier to understand and explain.

This well laid out museum has some unique exhibits and is of course dedicated to the decisive 1954 battle. It is well worth the 100k vnd ($4) entrance fee.

It was a must visit spot for Dien Bien Phu and it houses some war relic, off-scale mannequines and photos record of the war history. It was not for entertainment rather a record of what the government decide to showcase. It is a place for reference but more information could probably be found somewhere else in the history book.

Lots of information and relics from the 1954 campaign against the French. Could easily miss the entrance. Close to A1 Hill and war cemetery.

This museum is a good size so you don’t get museum fatigue. Remember it is closed from 11:00 to 1:30. It helps you understand what an incredible achievement it was for the Viet Minh to beat the French and change world history on May 7 1954

Laid out ok. Interesting but not awesome. The exhibits were very well done, along with the items on display. Not overly interesting for our 9 year old but then probably not there for young peoples amusement. Glad we went.

As members of the 22-strong Anglo-Thai Society Regional Tour, my wife and myself visited the Dien Bien Phu Museum earlier today.

This is just one of the many local attractions celebrating the Vietnamese victory over the French here in 1954 - something of great pride to the Country - and every visitor to Dien Bien Phu should allow an hour of their time to visit the Museum . It was rebuilt on the same site in 2004 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary and it is most user-friendly.

The panorama of the battle.I was unable to understand the commentary, but I didn't have to.I understood what was going on.I understand it took 7 years to complete. Many who were there did not know how this battle changed our world and the future of Vietnam.
