If you come to Nan, you must come to this temple. A unique identity that is different from other temples of Wat Phumin is that the church and viharn are built in the same building with wooden doors in all four directions. Carved patterns by Lanna craftsmen, very beautiful. In addition, the walls depict life and culture. In addition to the picture of whispering love that is the highlight There are also other images. There are many more. When I come with my family, I feel very good. I can pay homage to monks and also see beautiful paintings.

I like peace There are many points of worship. Next to it is a frangipani tree for taking photos. And you can also walk around the city. There is parking nearby for easy travel. Highly recommended.

Wat Phumin is Nan's most famous temple. The monastery was foundexd in 1596. But its present dates from 1867-75, when it was renovated during the reign of Chao Anantaworaritthidej. Very special is the cruciform shape of the wat. Inside you discover four buddhas sitting back to back and astonishing mural paintings, covering the interior walls, depicting not only scenes from Buddha’s life, but also battle scenes, festival celebrations, the arrival of foreigners in town and locals flirting. Wat Phumin is near the National Museum and other temples. More background about Nan: http://my-lanna.blogspot.com/2010/09/nan-beauty-of-nature.html

It is always shining and lighting the city with its beauty from the outside and the light that emanates from its interior. This Wat was build in 1596 (A.C.) and after two major reformations it was declared a Royal Wat and it really does play a significant role in Nan life. It is in a fantastic site, in front of the road where the famous Night Market takes place every Friday-Saturday-Sunday. I would say that this must be the most visited Wat in Nan. It has particular features and one of them is having 4 main doors, each one leading us to recline before a giant golden Buddha. So, it has 4 giant Buddhas facing each one of the 4 doors and this is really a unique feature. It is not used to build Wats with these particularities. The main temple is like a Viharn, a square shape. Surrounding the main structure of Phumin, beautiful gardens are waiting for a picnic or a chat while the sun is burning. In fact, Phumin is a group of structures. In a small building we can go inside and see the sculptures and the reconstruction of what life in Nan was. (with many weird creatures). Wat Phumin is probably the most important Wat in Nan and is always with someone paying respect to Buddha.
Wat Phumin plays its role at the Night Market, lending its giant terrace so that all people can go to market, buy the foods, seat on a big carpet and hear the concert that takes place every night of the Night Market. I shall say that after dinner, all the area is cleaned and ready for the next night. A must see, a must visit!

This is the most famous temple in town. The tourists are here for the great mural painting on the wall called "Love Whisperer". Inside there are the 4 Buddha faced to all direction. Every Friday to Sunday there is a walking street in front of temple. So I highly recommend to visit this temple.

One of the main temple in Nan and a must-see one. Located near the Golden Intersection of the town, Wat Phumin stands proudly welcome visitors to its holy ground. The temple ground has a museum cum gift shop next to the temple and is very well shaded with various tall trees. Inside the temple, the central positioned Buddha image is surrounded with famous paintings from its era. Overall the temple gives the majestic aura to be appreciated by the worshipers and visitors alike. A must-see in Nan.
