Very modern equipped museum! It is not huge but very useful especially for the children who start to learn about history. Amazing guides and not to forget - free admission! plenty of free parking sports around this museum. Very much recommended.

I can't recommend this gallery enough. Was there last week on a visit from Lille and it was one of the most important art gallery experiences of my life. It was incredibly well designed. Loads of space between the exhibits. Explanations in three languages - (note to most of the galleries in the UK, we need to do more of... More

Visited here as part of a press trip, truly stunning museum well laid in thoroughly modern way with as you would expect world class artefacts. A must for all.

This fabulous new architect-designed gallery goes back to first principles of museum design. Each exhibit has its own space and you can walk around them to appreciate them from every angle. The space is flooded with light, and there is a Timeline on the wall so that you can immediately see where you are in the chronology of art. Two... More

A kind of bright UFO in the suburb of gloomy Lens. Building itself is very nice, neat design.. Permanent collections, from Louvre in Paris, are showed in pure chronological order in one great room, very interesting. Nice pieces of art, not too much. No temporary exhibition during my visit.

Use an audioguide or a smartphone, you will understand a lot on art history. In the Galerie du Temps, you are going to meet 200 masterpieces of mankind from the begining to the XX°century. You will be closer to these splendid paintings and sculptures you've never been and you never will be. This intimity with art is a special experience... More

A modern steel and glass edifice which did not impress me- and I like modern architecture. It's surrounded by a vast open space with a few trees and scrubby plants in them. Not a pleasant site. Car parks are outside its perimeter, unless you visit the restaurant within the grounds. Park there without a restaurant booking and you can get... More

The main benefit of the selection from the Louvre Paris which makes up the permanent exhibition of the "Galerie du Temps" is that rather than being overwhelmed by a mass of exhibits you really feel able to spend time looking at the artifacts closely without the pressure to get on to the next gallery. The huge exhibition space also helps... More

Today we drove over to Lens to see the Charles Le Bron exhibition at the museum. This is a wonderfully modern building and it is extremely user-friendly. There are several hundred paintings in this exhibition. The painter was the main court artist of Louis XIV. We decided to take a guided tour. There were only 19 visitors in the group... More
