Medium level for non regular trekkers. Easy otherwise. Caves on top for overnight stay/ tent within cave. Beautiful greenery all around. Sight for sore city eyes. Go in group. Leopards have been reported. Could take guide/s from village near base Could camp even below the mountain - beautiful. Nice tea and poha shop.

Mahuli fort, at 2815 ft, is the highest point in Thane district and thus, a very frequented place for treks. How to reach: Board an Asangaon/Kasara local train on central line and get down at Asangaon and hire an Auto for 250rs to Mahuli Base. Do: Plenty of water (minimum 3 ltrs/head), Electrolyte powder, Map of the fort, Insect repellant... More

The Mahuli Fort is a good option for trekking close to Mumbai. It is about 80 km from Mumbai on the Nashik highway. The trek is moderate. Carry plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. There are small shops available at the foothills. If you plan to have lunch post the trek then you can book the same before starting... More

Not just awesome.......place was super awesome. Visited this place yesterday...it's really nice...But the only thing why it doesn't get 5 star because of the weather. It is slippery and if it's raining then be very very very careful. Also if there is no rain then it's same as summer very hot..which makes it tough to climb. We went it yesterday... More

If you are tired from your busy schedule through out the week, and want a break, this can be a nice place. Amazing sceneries and views. There isn't much like a fort to see. Its bit tougher than what I expected. Greatest hurdles that we face were mosquitoes and insects. Please take a repellent cream (odomos) and wear full body... More

We joined Nomad Hikers group for this trek. It was really awesome experience. It was monsoon season. We enjoyed rain through out the trek. Some of the views were mind blowing. Recommended one day trek.
