This museum is very special because there are no others like it in Lindsay. And it also takes in surrounding areas. Neil Young display was a trip down memory lane. The museum has a lot of information and the structure itself with the cells and the info on the people that operated it over time was very informative. Great place... More

My son and I heard about the world war 1 exhibit at the old jail. They had many interesting artifacts but the exhibit itself was relatively small and compromised one small section of the jail. The artifacts and we'll as mostly all of the exhibits in the jail are tied to local families and their history in the area. There... More

This museum is in the old jail. The entrance fee is only $5 per person. It definitely has a lot of artifacts. It looks like they are working on new displays as well. Some of the jail cells were so tiny that they only fit 1 bed with no walking space.

Enjoyed my tour provided by museum staff. Very friendly and knowledgeable. A lot more to the history of Lindsay than I expected. Will definitely return.

I would love to be able to visit, however we cannot figure out when it's open. Even when I have visited the website to see the hours/days we have turned up only to find the doors locked.

My daughter suggested that she wanted to go through and see what's all in there. Well one rainy day came and off we went, It was an interesting tour and a lot of neat information about who did what and some of the "where" as well. We ended wandering off ourselves and respectfully went and took our time investigating just... More

I brought a young man from Spain to visit the museum. He was treated so kindly that he will have nothing but good to say of our museum.

Visited the Olde Lindsay Jail during a Play that used the jail as its authentic setting. The Play was called "The Last Hanging" which featured the trial and execution of Fred McGaughey who was convicted of murdering his girlfriend, Beatrice Fee, in May of 1924. Former Ontario Premiere, Leslie Frost was McGaughey's defense lawyer, but to no avail, as McGaughey... More
