Great Old Venue

This is a great old style theater venue with fair shows. We enjoy going once and awhile. If you like live entertainment in a heritage setting this is a good choice.

This theatre has old town charm...it has hosted many venues from music to plays, bands, dance, fashion shows, stand up comics etc. The local members and patrons strive to keep it viable as to lose it would be a great loss to the community.

I keep the Academy Theatre on my e-mail listing so I get the updates of all the shows coming to the theatre. This is a local gem that produces quality entertainment for all ages. I have gone to this theatre since I was a child and now I take my child here whenever I can.

Although the entertainment was superb, thoroughly enjoyable we are sorry to say we did not like the venue at all. We appreciate the historical presence of this theatre, but the seats are so very uncomfortable, (hard, cramped and small) thankfully the music took our minds off the fact we sat in pain for over 2 hours. We won't return back, no... More

Being new to the area, we caught a show (Lunch At Allen's) at Academy Theatre. Our seats were great (first row of 2nd level) and we found the acoustics pretty good. Only negative was the LONG lineups for the ladie's room at intermission, which many theatres struggle with. Other than that, a fun night out!

Recently saw Beatlemainia Revisited at the Academy Theatre in Lindsay Ontario. This is the second performance we have seen here. Both were great. Great value for the money. Any seat in the theatre is good. Highly recommend the Academy Theatre. And the performers were fantastic.
