There are other ways to get to Genting Highland Resort Hotel - by private car/taxi/Grab, by bus, or by Cable Car. I highly recommend you try the Cable Car. It has these going for it - it is cheap (USD2.00-3.00), you get a fantastic view of the Genting forests along the way that you cant get any other way, it is fast, it is convenient and it is much more fun than sitting in a car/bus.
This is one of the world's longest cable car ride and one of the fastest. Dont worry, it is absolutely safe, the facility is well maintained.

This cable car network is a marvelous way to travel between Genting Awana, the Genting Premium Outlets Shopping Mall on the lower part of the hill and the Genting Sky Avenue Shopping Mall and First World Plaza on the top of the hill. If you purchase a 2-way ticket, you will get a small discount. A 1-way ticket costs RM10 per adult, whereas the 2-way ticket costs RM18 per adult. If you have time, I recommend that you explore the Chin Swee Temple which is located halfway in between the 2 main cable car stations for a trip into Chinese culture and mythology. This attraction is completely free of charge for everyone!

For only RM9 per way for this ride from mid-mountain to the peak of Genting Highlands, definitely underpriced. It is sufficiently new and modern, well maintained, queue that seems long but moves quickly, traversing quite a distance, across 2-3 stations, an optional stop at a Chinese temple and well staffed. Great experience. If this was anywhere overseas, be prepared to pay upwards of USD10!!!

We paid extra for the glass floor from the staff managed automated ticket kiosk as we paid extra our thought was it would be a little faster than normal cable car. Unfortunately nothing could have been further from the truth. We found out that there was 1 glass bottom cable car every 10 cars and since they were not shared cars we had to wait for over an hour just to get to the front of the line. After asking the attendant to just give us any car to go up he just rudely waved his hand in my face and walked away. Had the staff who was selling tickets informed that there was a long wait time for the glass bottom car we could have made another choice as the skyworlds theme park closes early (6 pm). The ride was nice with good scenery but our goal was to get there as quickly as possible as it is a destination transit.

They do not practice social distancing , people crowd together queueing, coughing away. No limits of people per cable car , and no enforcement of wearing mask. And you cant choose to avoid those people as the staff keep ‘ stuffing’ more passenger into the cable car. View from cable car is awesome.

Highly recommend this excellent ride up to Genting Highlands. Although we had a chauffeured car and could have driven up to Genting directly, our family of 6 decided to take the Genting Cable car from Gohtong station. It was half price for Malaysians over 60 of age. It’s quite easy to buy a ticket there. We were there on a weekday and whilst there was a queue, it moved pretty fast. There is a complimentary stop at a temple if you want to visit. As you approach Genting Highlands, you can practically see the various theme parks, hotels and parking areas. I especially like the green hill views at the start to before approaching Genting.

Amazing views, great skyway / cable car. Ride is probably about 15 mins, goes quite quickly. Stunning scenery, felt well run and safe. A highlight of the trip.

There were 8 of us. Including one man on wheelchair, 3 children below 7. Long queues but fast, as there were so many gondolas, and so organised. One gondola can seat 8 persons. Wheelchair easily fit into gondola.
Fantastic views and whether was cool. Staff were good and professional. Will return for more rides!

Nice to get out of the city, even if it is to yet another shopping extravaganza.
Entry to the cable car via a large shopping mall, that takes you to an enourmous shopping centre on top of a mountain. You get to stop halfway at a temple for some quite scenic pictures, the entire attraction is quite a feat of extravegance and engineering - most impressive.
I could have spent longer at the mid-point lookout, but was touring with a group.
The drive out and back was quite steep but on very good roads and the countryside is just lovely.
