At 63 euros a person this is an expensive excursion, but it was fabulous! We were concerned we wouldn't be able to see much because of cloudy conditions, but the clouds parted long enough for us to see into the crater and to the top...More

I couldn't think of a better way to head to the top! The car was closed and they made sure to distribute the weight. I felt safe.

Cannot be in Sicily without going to Mt Etna. The drive up the mountain and the extensive coverage of solidified mounds of lava are nothing short of impressive. The ride on the cable car was fun especially for our kids...but...the total cost of €102 for...More

Whether tis nobler to part with €63 pp depends entirely on how much you like walking and steep ascents. If you walk you will need proper gear, boots, poles are handy, and you should be fit. We were up there in late August and it...More

The cable car itself is not spectacular and if you do not want to hike up to the 2002 craters or the summit it may be a questionable expense. The summit tour is great and for 85,- for a 5hrs tour with a guide a...More

135 Euros for 5 Persons family just for the funicular and not even provide cleaned toilets, they looked like third world train station. All their service looks like their only target is to take your wallet in captivity.

We took the funivia, jeep plus tour with guide around the craters, It is a bit pricey (over 200 euro for a couple with 2 young kids)...but the experience is lovely. Worth doing it all. We were given lunch drink and coffee for free (from...More

Is a must do if you're on Etna but kind of expensive. Can be combined with a safari bus ride which goes even further up to a crater. One can choose to walk as well.

Etna is beautiful, the park surrounding it is picturesque and the craters are amazing to see. But the ascent to the summit is way overrated.

I just checked off another on my bucket list. The cable car up to a "jeep" ride further up. Then on foot with a guide (spoke English) even further. The ash from the 2013 eruption was covering a layer of snow. The wind was at...More

The guides speek quite decent “continental” english :-) English. If there are enough of you you can ask for a “only english” group and save some time or get more attention. Good luck!
