After a brief walk through the forest, we were at the entrance to the Hastings Caves. Glad I took a jacket, was quite cool in the cave system. plenty of natural beauty and interesting commentary by the knowledgeable guides. Unfortunately I'm not very good at taking photos in new darkness. After the exploration of the caves we soaked in the... More

The caves are an excellent example of a karst underground system. The experience is considerably enhanced by the thermal springs in a pool well sited in a sylvan glade. Recommended.

these caves are great first timer caves. very pretty, easy walking. I have seen more WOW caves though, as these don't have reflective pools or glow worms. the thermal pool was overcrowded so we decided not to go in and drive back to our accommodation.

The caves were spectacular! Excellent guide showed us the stalactites and stalagmites and gave fascinating information. Plenty of time for photos in this well presented and preserved cave complex. Well worth the visit. The thermal pools are free with a cave visit and were delightfully warm. Quite busy on a hot January day, but the site dealt with it really... More

Hastings Caves are well worth the drive from Hobart. Informative Guide who had good knowledge of the caves. The caves are one of the better caves to tour in the country. The additional benefit is a swim in the Thermal Springs.

It's been 35 years since being down here and still blew me away. The caves are awesome and scenery is still stunning. Take some mosquito repellent all I will say. At end of day relax in the thermal pool and cook a barbecue lay back this is life....

Very enjoyable and some spectacular views. Although, the guide we had was a bit dry and not sure he wanted to be there. Great to see the local history of the area.

IS it worth the visit ? Yes, from an educational and explorative standpoint. Its about a 120minute drive from Hobart so ... its quite an investment in time. But the visit is both educational and you can roll a swim in the Thermal Springs near by. The Guide was very good, pointing out that its a rarer Dolomite cave and... More

The staff were very informative and friendly. The Caves were magnificent and well looked after, easily navigated and awe inspiring. To have a swim in the thermal pool at after the caves was traffic - the kids (and big kids) loved it

It is a lovely area. The entrance to the cave is really pretty. The cave experience itself was not rushed and were split in 2 groups. We didn't find our guide to be great but the the overall experience was still good. The staff at the information booth are friendly and were helpful in planning our next adventure.
