One of the many monasteries that we visited in Sikkim. This one is small and feels comfortable to go within it. The monks were taking part in a ceremony when we were there and were pleased to have us watching.
Outside the paintwork was being redone.

Unlike most other monasteries this is open , though the renovation was going on. This can be visited as Rumtek monastery is closed for couple of months.
You can spent sometime in clicking good pictures and create memories for your Sikkim trip.

Lovely monastery with a peaceful and serene environment. It's a fairly small place but the calm that washes over you is lovely. Be sure to walk downstairs too and see the prayer wheels and have a little meditation time. There are some new buildings being constructed at the moment too, expanding the monastery complex.

Our Taxi driver took us to this Monastery. We were not aware of it. Although it is small one, but historical it has a place in books.
My kids enjoyed the calmness. No disturbance.
People offered chips, biscuits to Buddha statue..may be that is allowed
Worth a visit.

It's good if we go at the festival time. Even in the off season also it gives lot of spiritual vibrations while entering into the Temple. Everything looks pleasant here and its sorroundings.

It is said that it is the most ancient monastery in Gangtok. The architecture is Chinese styled. Monks in red dress, prays in their language and play the local ancient instruments.

The monastery is on the hill. Its more modern around then it should be. In my opinion, monks changed too much from their past and its not look good. If you have a time, find better monastery.
