The paradise beach is 10 km to the south of pondicherry. It is very close to eden beach also. We chose this place as we wanted to chill by the beach side. So once we landed up, we paid an entry fees of ₹70 per person to enter into sand dunes beach resort whichc has some water sports and which eventually leads to the beach. The water sports had been recently set up. All the equipments were new and seemed like they were in the process of setting up some more activities. We tried a couple of them and we were satisfied with the experience. Then we proceeded to the beach and spent some time chilling in the beach. Overall it was a good experiemce and worth a try if you like water sports!

Paradise Beach can be safely added to the 'must visit' list of visitors to Pondicherry. The beach is on the northern side of the town and the way to reach the it makes it even more interesting. The beach is next to the Chunnambar Estuary, and the access is via a 15-20 minute boat ride. Children would find the visit exciting with a good boat ride as well as an opportunity to play with the sea waves.

The striking feature of the beach is the cleanliness of the area. I found that there is an army of maintenance staff who diligently picks up garbage, coconut shells etc and keeps the beach clean. The sand too seems to have a very distinct shade of white. This and the clear blue sea makes the area look scenic with good scope for photography experiments.

There are stalls selling tender coconuts and two restaurants serving snacks and drinks. There are sand buggies available on hire, and a 'rain dance' area for visitors who want to get drenched in that way. There are toilets and very basic facilities for visitors to bath & change their clothes, but there are no cloak rooms/lockers to keep personal belongings safe. When travelling as a small group one person may have to act as a sentry/guard.

The beach has safe areas marked and there are also life guards available. The life guards are not having any distinctive uniform which seems to be an area for improvement. The only way to identify them is to listen to their whistles or check if they are carrying a whistle.

You have to go in a boat to reach this paradise! It’s okay, but can be skipped if you are short of time. There are some activities like bike riding and rain dance on the beach, can take a dip inside the water. They have a changing room also.

Pondicherry happens to be the perfect beach destination to unwind and rejuvenate. 5 hrs drive from chennai and 7 hrs drive from Bangalore. Away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life it is the perfect place to relax. From beach to temples it has so many things to offer. Flanked by beautiful churches it stands as a true testimony to the bygone french era. The colourful houses, boasts of french colonial architecture. You will find a piece of France in french quarter where you get perfect french cuisine to satiate your taste buds. The promenade beach will take away all your worries, the serenity of the beach will have a calming effect. But it is not exactly a place to play with the waves it is rocky. It is one of the most clean beaches. Evenings there are small small cafes where you can enjoy your evening tea and coffee while enjoying the cool sea breeze. The other visual delights include Auroville the city of dawn, Aurobindo ashram where you can meditate and truly connect with your inner self. 2nights 3 days will be perfect for your sojourn in pondicherry.

Beach is clean and well maintained but it’s not worth the cost they are taking to travel through boat and entry fee. The prices are costly in these beach. It’s better to visit Eden beach which is very near to it by walk
