There was a big hype made about this place through many websites and reviews. But it is not worth at all. We went by road to this place. There is an approach road through villages to reach here. One new company called "Sand Dunes Resorts" are developing this place. A fully commercialized place. You can see the greediness for money in all the eyes over here. First the approach road from through the villages are so worst that on every feet there a pot hole and bumps and what not. Some money may be spent to lay a decent road to reach here. Then this "SandDune Property" is still being developed, the so called restaurant, and boat rides are still under development. One person approached us to take us on a motor boat ride. I asked about the charges. He simply said it will be 500 rupees per person. I asked what you will do for that money. We will take you on motor boat one round. Wow, what an entertainment. People are ready to rip you off. Dont fall pray to them. Hope once the property is developed then they may charge an entry fee also. Dont Go there. Never. Nothing to see except a sea with waves.

This beach was practically deserted when I went check it out while in Pondicherry. The approach road was deplorable ,narrow with puddles and several twists and turns before reaching the beach. There were several resorts on both sides of the approach road and all of them were deserted probably because it was off season and also Covid restrictions. The promotional literature of paradise beach boasts of street sea food operated mainly by the fisher community but I could none of these . There was only one restaurant without any diners. It was twelve PM when I when I toured this place. I had a plate of fish fingers which was not great but just about enough to satisfy my curiosity about the quality. The parking lot had just two other cars besides my own taxi and the lot attendant was quiet vocal about his comments about the beach which was not entirely complimentary. In summarizing I would say it is a over hyped beach by the promoters and also may be the merits are comparative to the other beaches in Pondicherry.

We have seen not many but 2,3 beaches. Paradise Beach at Pondicherry is neat and good. This is because no vendors are allowed. Otherwise the place would be full of empty water bottles, chips pockets etc. This beach is clean. We were in the sea shore waters for 3 hours. But as at every beach, we must take care of ourselves of sudden big waves of the sea. Very good beach. Any beach requires cleanliness, first for the sea living creatures and animals and secondly for us. Good beach for two categories!

To access the Paradise beach one would need to take motor boats/speed boats/house boats from Chunnambar boat house (about 7 kms from White Town). The minimum priced ticket for an adult is 354 Rs (as of Dec 2020) round trip on a motor boat. The last motor boat from the beach starts at 5:30 PM, so please plan your visit accordingly. The boat ride to the beach is super awesome. Went through the Chunnambar river backwaters and took us through to the beach. The lush green surroundings of the backwater and the width of the river makes the experience serene and calm. Reminded us somewhat of Kerala (Alleppey) backwaters. However once you reach the beach, it is just like any other normal beach. Way too much sea weeds. Otherwise a clean beach, sand is very dry (doesn’t get stuck - unless of course you have taken a dip into the sea). They have commercialized the place a bit too much, hence you would see lot of play/sports areas for kids and adults. Again, I would say as only beach experience I would rate it only 3 stars, however due to the journey through the backwaters surely an overall 4. One time visit if you are staying in Pondi.

There was a lot of seaweed debris on the beach but still clean, no plastics, bottles, good wrappers etc other than that. Sand quality is good, much better than auro beach. Water is not as saline as the west coast. No shower facilities or changing area or anything else for general public.
