We wanted to go to the Paradise Beach so decided to take a boat from Chunambar Boathouse. It was the day of Christmas and extremely crowded. They are charging separately for entry fee (just to enter the area) and separately for boating (for the boat ride to Paradise Beach). Now both the counters had huge queue and will kill your time. A single counter with the two people operating can be some much convenient for the tourists. In addition to that the wait time for the boat ride would kill up another hour. All these for a maximum 20 to 30 minute ride can easily frustrate people.

The boat ride in itself was very blissful. The beautiful views soothed our eyes and the cool breeze calmed our souls. The ride was definitely a highlight and we really loved the experience.

Very Costly place. Go there only if you have time. This place could be skipped if you have other places to visit. Very very costly

The boat house opens at 9 AM. First boat service starts at 9:30 AM. They could have started a bit earlier. The short boat ride is enjoyable. The paradise beach is very nice with river on one side and sea on the other. In summer, the sand gets very hot, making it a bit difficult to walk barefoot. But once you reach the seafront and dip into water it is really enjoyable. Very safe beach even for kids. There is a lifeguard at the beach. There are change rooms and wash rooms, but they are in pathetic condition. Public also very careless in throwing plastic bottles and waste here and there. However it was a very good experience overall!
The highlight was the seafood lunch we had at one Jellikettu restaurant, right opposite to the Chunnambar boat house on our return. For Rs. 840/- two of us had a sumptuous lunch with all sorts of seafood and chicken fries 👍

While the scenery itself is very typical of tropical Asia, a boat ride down the river is still a welcomed experience. There is also an option to ride to Paradise Beach, a strip of sand right at the end of the boat ride. It is also possible to join the boat tour on a shared group basis to bring the cost down.

Chunnamber boat house is a symbolic name of ferry service centre. You will see a house boat there, but now the boat is dilapidated. Entry fees is ₹10 for above 10 years &  ₹ 5 for 6 to 10 years. Parking charges seperate according to your vehicle. This is gateway to paradise Beach island.  You can go there either moto boat or speed boat as per your choice. You will cross Chunnamber river to reach the island. It was awesome experience. Kids will definitely enjoy this ride.  First boat timing is 9:30AM and last boat will leave on 3:45 PM, so plan accordingly. You can also visit Paradise Island by road, but I will suggested go by boat.

The ferrying boats are super slow and very crowded. No life jackets.

The activities in the beach are few and they charge a lot for the rides.

Cafe: limited menu with overpriced essential items (like coffee, tea, etc.)
