Went to the site of ancient Thera primarily for the walk from Kamari and the views. These were both really nice and the walk, albeit steep, is pleasant with pockets of shade now and then. There is a small booth selling drinks and snacks at...More

Awesome place we walked up from Perissa, the track is rocky and steep in places but with care it's not too bad. If you can stand a bit of rough walking then you have to visit the old streets and buildings are mind blowing together...More

Considering there are no amenities such as water fountain or some nice spots to rest, paying 8EUR doesn't seem cheap... View is spectacular from up top! breathtaking!. You get to see the sea, Kamari, Akrotiry, Pyrgos, OIA, and basically the entire surroundings.

It's a hell of a climb on foot but more than achievable with two or four wheels. The last bit is on foot, try to chose a day that is not too windy as at the top it really does get blustery, well you are...More

Well worth a visit as it is on top of a mountain (regular mini buses can take you there) so the view of the island is amazing. Also very interesting to see how they lived , also how many different influences as they were invaded...More

Came here with a group holiday. We used scooters or quad bikes to get up the winding road. Fantastic views which kept getting better. For a small fee, pay to acesss the extensive site which is incredibly interesting. Unfortunately, I felt that the leaflets handed...More

I'm not sure of the opening time. However I recommend that you ascend in the morning as it is fairly strenuous climb, and doing it in the heat is not good. Obviously, have suitable footwear and take water. It is worth the... More
