A little over an hour to get here from Stuttgart, I took a day trip here on a weekday just to get outside and hike/walk around. The castle itself was closed for the day, but the area affords a beautiful view of the village below. Worth the drive

Close to Stuttgart, this castle looks really nice. I visited in summer hence all the rooms were accessible. Their tours are amazing. English tours need to be booked in advance and can get a bit expensive. I adjusted with the German tour, though I didn't know any German. They give you a paper with English description of each room and... More

This small castle is located close to Stuttgart, Germany. Takes about an hour to drive there from the city. This castle offers its visitors some very amazing views. It is built on a cliff and surrounded by amazing views. For people who enjoy a bot of hiking, there are many different parking options before the castle, you will definitely enjoy... More

All of the interesting parts of the castle were closed for winter. You couldn't even walk around and look at the iconic view of the castle. Not worth going to in the winter.

We took the scenic route from Stuttgart to Munich and made a stop at Schloss Lichtenstein. It's a beautiful little castle on a hilltop with fantastic views of the surrounding region. Just outside the castle is a pleasant outdoor restaurant with a playground (you can also have a picnic if you bring your own food/drink). Perfect spot to enjoy what... More

A small and forgotten castle in Baden-Wurttemberg, this castle is still owned by members of the Urach family. They use the castle as a museum for tourists and keep a private residence on the grounds next to the castle. The small fee (€7) covers a guided tour in German (they offer a hand out with English translations). The stories are... More

We easily reached the castle by car. You can visit it only as a part of a guided tour. The tour was interesting and the rooms are beautifully decorated. The views are stunnig, like in a fairy-tale.

Don't miss this little gem! We did not take guided tour, as it was not in English. We did enjoy the castle and grounds on a snowy November morning. Coffee and tea at the restaurant over the hill of castle.

This castle has a dramatic view off the side of the cliff. Totally worth paying the small admission fee to go inside (otherwise, you can't see the cliff side view). We did not take tour of inside. It's also a small castle, so doesn't take up too much time to walk around.
