If you want action and/or commerciality (is that a word?) don't go to Bacton. My wife and I have been visiting Bacton for 20 years now (nearly every year) and it's so laid back it's beyond the horizontal! The beach is fantastic, obviously more so when...More

Went there because it was quiet and we could take the dog onto the beach. Beautiful beach we loved, the dog loved it. Shame some dog owners do not pick up the dog mess.

What a lovely summer holiday I had with my family. When the sea is out the beach is covered in pools were the children can splash around freely and safely. Its never too crowded and pets are also welcomealong certain parts of it.

We visited on a cloudy evening and found the beach empty and perfect for a long dog walk. Miles of sand with just the occasional fisherman and some children playing in a deep pool. Shame about the surroundings of the gasworks but if you keep...More

Visited for and afternoon. Was very quiet with really only a cafe, fish & chip shop and an ice cream van. Was pleasant, but nothing to write home about. The tide was in so didn't really get to experience the beach. My son was stung...More

There are far more beautiful beaches in Norfolk. Hard to access and dangerous if not very mobile. Main Gas Terminal from North Sea is situated at Bacton so not very pretty! Would not return!

Bacton is a beautiful place to have a holiday, explore it’s amazing history and to live here (we’re retiring to Bacton in a few years). Just a shame that a few dog owners spoil it for others. Bacton lanes are typical country short walks to...More

A lovely sandy beach, fairly clean, great to have a dip in the sea, easy to catch crabs. Not very busy well recommended.

As another traveller has mentioned, parking by the beach is free at Bacton. Another alternative is to park in the small supermarket car park to meet and walk to the beach from the side of the shop.

Hi, dogs are allowed on certain parts of the beach during specified times. There are signs along the coastline, however, some of the markings have eroded so it's not always clear. Generally, you need to be careful between... More

There are points in the sea wall to use steps to go up and over. Then from the walk way you need to use steps down onto the beach. A bit difficult for restricted mobility
