What a lot of kite surfers

A beautiful beach, a bit windy so the sand kicks up but that's what makes it so popular with kit surfing

This is one of the best places in the world to go kite surfing. The beach is beautiful and there is always wind year round. Many places available to kite surf and you can also learn there if you have never done it but plan on spending at least 10 hours to learn it. The water is always warm and... More

Great beach for water sports and sand dune views and sliding. Rough sea most days for swimming though.

This area is well known as one of the planets best Kite surfing beaches. We enjoyed the day here watching some incredible surfers. I would plan a whole day in Combuco lots to do and see. There are a lot of beach vendors here, but to be expected at a public beach in Brazil.

Cumbuco beach has the white sand and warm waters of the Caribbean, the blue sky is dotted with white fluffy clouds and the beach is more or less deserted - yes you could be in paradise but.....the beach is used by the local Brasilian residents as a dumping ground - it's criminal to spoil such a location but you need... The beach is good for kitting but besides that is not the ideal place to relax. With the wind, its not possible to lay down on the sand. You'd have to chill at a resort. There are quite a few waves and the water is not extremely clean.

Don't expect beach like Copacabana or something similar. The beach in Cumbuco is authentic, beautiful and has the best conditions for kite surfing. Enjoy!

Cumbuco is a sleepy little town in a string of villages NW (ish) of Fortaleza (coast of Brazil is approx NW there). I've been there from Sept to December for the past 2 years. The beach is wide with miles and miles of excellent sand, pretty much free of obstructions to damage you or your gear. The ocean bottom pretty... More
