    Sunny j restaurant
A small beach restaurant along Perivolos Beach Santorini. Delightful owner and staff who work really hard to please their customers. Very good value for money and the best moussaka on the island. Thin layer of potatoes topped with tasty lamb and the most delicious bechamel sauce. Huge portion. I thought I couldn’t possibly eat it all.. I did because it was so light and tasty. Made by the resident chef.

    Beautiful black beach!!!
Beautiful and well worth the bus ride! We rented a cabana at Jojos and had a terrific day! The black beach is gorgeous! We would definitely go back and would return to Jojos! Food was good and we had a server who brought us anything we asked for!

Recommend for a day out in the beach
One of the best beaches in Santorini. This is a black sand beach in the south part of the island and offers a nice, quiet and relaxing vibe which is quite different from the touristy cliffs of Oia and Imervovigli. Being a sandy and clean beach, this is an excellent place to swim. The waters are relatively clear and there are plenty of shaded seating options available for a modest fee (EUR 10 - 15) for the full day. Plenty of eating options near the beach and a mini market ofering cool drinks, beers and basic swimming equipments. There are also water sports though it was quite expensive; nearly EUR 50-60 for a 10min jet ski / squab. We spent the whole day at the beach and couldnt have asked for a better experience.

Safest family beach in Santorini. Take Perissa bus from Fira and stop at Perivolos beach bus stop
Ideal beach for families with kids or people who cannot go very deep, with very small sand-like volcanic rocks. Unlike the other beaches in Santorini that have big rocks in the water, this beach felt exactly like a sandy beach without the sand’s inconvenience. You can either swim in the public beach or in one of the many restaurants around it. In any case, please note that you need water shoes because the Little Rocks/sand get extremely hot between 10:00 and 17:00. We stayed in Safran restaurant and when you eat for 60 euros, the sun beds are for free, but you can still choose the public beach if you want (just know there is no shade anywhere).

    Nice day on the beach.
We had brunch at Aegean Safran and used their sun beds after. It saves paying €20 at parts not in front of bars or restaurants. The sea is lovely to swim in. It does get deep very quickly so less confident swimmers need to be aware of that. I wore sandals to the water as the sand gets very hot. Very pleasant day overall.

    Beautiful beach
The beach was not crowded at all and we were able to lay our stuff on a beach towel on the sand instead of renting a lounge chair. The water was chilly, but so refreshing and calm! The black sand was beautiful and the clear water was perfect.

I thought I disliked black sand beaches- this beach proved me wrong! I’ve been to a couple in other countries and expected we’d just stop here briefly for photos and check it out. We stayed for hours!!! And loved it!!! The sand texture was surprisingly smooth and the earth tone rocks against all that black was gorgeous! The water was warm and clear!! We sat at JoJo’s which I also highly recommend- the chairs were soooo comfy and beautiful to look at. We ordered the lamb babies (lamb chops) which were the best we’ve ever had!! 10 of 10 for sure!!!

Only beach in Santorini where you can walk with your bare feet. The water was warm and clear. Also very serene. Luxury beach clubs like 41 where you can rent a recliner or Cabana.

We found this beach had a good combination of sandy beach by Santorini standards, entertainment choice, restaurants and beach bars.

The beach was clean, water crystal clear, parking available, several shops, many restaurants, beach bars but not in a tacky or pretentious way. Something for everyone.

If you want to chill out laying in the sand with a towel or hit a cool beach bar like Jo Jo’s with a Luxury cabana, you have this and everything in between. Just take your pick!

Nice beach with quite a few restaurants and beach bars, more sedate than perissa. The sand is black and hot. The sea is good but if you want blue calm water you better heading to a more sheltered area a few miles west. Nice beach bars that include a sunbed if you eat their or drink.

Lovely relaxed beach, with lots of hospitable taverna’s and cafes. Easy to reach with a car or similar, and plenty of spots to park etc.

Beach and water is shallow as you enter with gentle waves, so great for a relaxing time. We really enjoyed our time down by Sunny J’s with free beach lounges and delicious lunches each day.
