    Breathtaking architecture
An example of incredible industrial architecture. with very high vaults of white tuff and pointed arabesque arches. I recommend the visit if you stay in Favignana. Everything is as it was then, from the "forest" where the tuna and the boats ready to go out to sea were hung, to the batteries of the tuna cooking tanks and the canning room. In the Turin pavilion, through a technological intervention, there are the voices of those who experienced the massacre.

    Must see- look for Piera
A truly beautiful experience that brings you back 100 years when the tuna business was the main activity of the island. Guided tours are still not on and only thanks to Piera, who is a local guide there and run the extra mile spending time to explain us the full story of the family and how the different parts of the Tonnara worked, that we could fully appreciate the experience. It would have not been the same thing without her, especially for our children. Honestly a must see if you happen to be between Trapani and Marsala as this business shaped the local economy for so many years.

    Former Florio factory, Favignana
It is really worth visiting during a stay in Favignana and listening to the guide's explanations to get an idea of the life of the island, the people, the history... Very well kept. Cost: €10. If you want a combined ticket to also visit Palazzo Florio, the cost is €12, instead of €15 (10+5). You visit various environments, internal and external, and you can also hear testimonies from people who worked there (via video panels). There are also several black and white photos from the period. They open at 10; first guided tour at 10.30am (the visit lasts about an hour). The staff arrives just before 10am so there is no need to arrive earlier also because there is no roof or anything to shelter from the sun and if it is hot it is better to arrive at the right time.

    Very interesting
Being a fan of the Florio family, I was very satisfied with the guided tour. The explanation was done in a very professional way, alternating historical anecdotes and curiosities about the Florio family, as well as the organization of the tuna fishery. An hour of organized tour, but you could stay longer without getting bored. At the end of the guided tour you can continue independently. I hope that the restoration work continues and that this heritage can always be maintained so well. Thanks to those who work there with so much passion.

    Absolutely not to be missed..
A truly surprising experience... Thanks to exceptional recovery work, the former Florio factory has become yet another jewel of Favignana. The visit, thanks to the truly exceptional local guide, took us back to the times of both the splendor and the fall of a great empire. Personally, to this day I really appreciate the choice of materials and colors used during the restoration, because there is nothing that exceeds or dominates the other...everything displayed or described remains unique, without losing its importance and authenticity.

    A must visit museum
This is a meticulously restored tuna factor which belonged to the infamous Florio family. The exhibits include a film made in the 1930s of the tuna canning process from end to end. The most important part of the island's economy at the time. It is also a beautifully architected building!

    Tuna trap to see
Merita la visita! Fabio accompanied us in the history of the Florio and in the life of the island of Favignana made of tuna fishing. We made the 6pm visit which ended at 7.35pm. Time has flown.

    Not to be missed
My husband and I visited the trap and we loved it. The history of the Florios is very fascinating so the visit was a must. Our Guide, Mrs. Principality, was very good and kind. Recommendation to go absolutely. If you want you can make the single ticket with Casa Florio and save a few euros.

A guided tour that you will never forget
I visited with my family the Ex Stabilimento Florio and first of all I would suggest to those who go to Favignana on holiday not to miss this opportunity. It is an amazing interesting and unique place. I suggest to participate in one of the guided tours that are regularly organized at several times in the day. I was lucky enough to meet the Guide Fabio Solina who literally made the difference. Through his expertise and incredible ability to narrate the events of the Florio and Parodi we were able to enjoy an experience that we will always carry with us and will not forget. Visiting Favignana losing this experience would be a shame. Highly recommended!

The interesting history of the trap and Favignana in the suggestive area used as a Museum
It was like immersing yourself in history, from Punic battles to slaughter, life and work in the trap through the ages and the history of conservation, thanks to the Guide who explained everything very well. From now on eating a can of tuna will never be the same! Not to be missed

Given that we arrived late (around 7pm and 7.45pm they invite you to go out).
- we are in the middle of summer (August). I think it is normal that with the heat one wants to visit it towards the evening and the times are incompatible with this choice. The last guided tour is at 6.30pm.
- the ticket even without a guide costs 9 euros, a little excessive considering the layout (it is difficult to understand the meaning of certain rooms and the introductory panels are completely missing).

Establishment and history, fantastic though...
On Sunday, September 1, museums should be free and the establishment is listed on the Ministry of Culture site. At my request, I am answered “at discretion”, moral of the story we paid and also paid the reduced for a 14-year-old when on the same site it says free up to 18 years. Legalized scam!

We visited the tonnara of Favignana our last day on the Egadis. The tonnara is an interesting example of industrial architecture and it has a sea turtles clinic inside the building. Liliana led in a very inspiring visit, where she taught us the almost mystic role of the rais alongside the different phases of tuna production. With the songs she shared with us, it was almost possible to feel the experience of the tonnara and its meaning not only for the industry but for the community as a whole. Absolutely recommended if you are in Favignana!

one of the most engaging visits ever, not for nothing is it the third time I've done it this summer
Enchanted by this island and even more so by its history, perhaps because at the same time I read the books about the Florio family, the fact is that I completely identified with these magical environments
last but not least, an added value was the extraordinary guide Vitalba, who for an hour and a half reeled off stories of real life between the Florio family, the tuna fishery, the glories and the decay of a bygone era
in short, absolutely not to be missed if you come to this magical island ❤️

The tuna fishery is a magical place. An essential stop to retrace the great history of this family originally from Bagnara: the Florios. Ignazio Florio's extraordinary invention on the processing and preservation of tuna was revolutionary and fundamental for the increase in work. Walking around the tuna fishery is evocative and evocative. The only flaw, unfortunately, to be highlighted was the hostility of the caretaker of the sea turtle recovery center who, despite the fact that we had shown our children's interest in seeing at least one species of these turtles on the fly because we were pressed for time due to the 'time to board the mini cruise, she was adamant. And our children were left with a bad taste in their mouths. Well, perhaps greater understanding and more compliance, especially towards children, wouldn't hurt.

A very interesting guided tour! The guide was very good at initially telling us the story of the Florio family and then guiding us through the factory explaining the various phases of fishing and tuna processing. Furthermore, in the establishment there are finds from the First Punic War. Absolutely recommended!

You absolutely must go if you want to know the history of Favignana and Sicily, since the Florio family influenced society, economy and customs for two centuries, throughout Southern Italy. The tour guided by Liliana was enthralling. All the guides on the site are smart but she, with a rhythmic story and a rapid pace, manages to make visitors empathize, with great generosity, to the point of recalling the songs and ways of the "tonnaroli della mattanza", almost like a performance theatrical.

An enchanting place that tells of a rich and fruitful past, built through the foresight and wisdom of the Florio family and its collaborators and employees. A truly interesting visit, with a truly knowledgeable guide (Liliana Lo Bianco) who, with her stories, filled with anecdotes and traditional songs, accompanied us to discover the tuna fishery and the activities that took place there. The hologram room (where the characters who took part in the activities of the tuna fishery tell their experiences) and the rooms which preserve artefacts dating back to the Punic wars are very suggestive. Advised!

A beautiful experience, we had a Guided tour of over an hour, the very good and super prepared guide, provided us with many details. I highly Recommendation to visit the establishment both for the beauty of the structure, both to know how the tuna fishing took place, explained in detail! After the guided tour, we continued to shoot on our own to take pictures and admire many videos and movies located in the various rooms

You cannot miss visiting the Favignana tuna fishery, the largest tuna fishery in the Mediterranean, the museum is very well preserved and it is admirable how with the guided tour and the detailed description you can relive the past and the prestige of those who lived in that era cutting edge for those times. Special thanks to the guide, Mrs. Liliana, who does her job with passion and tells the story of the Florio family and the history of the tuna fishery of those times... VERY GOOD
