City Center - one of the largest squares in Europe. Plague Column, lime avenues, fountains and old houses. Historic architecture. The overall impression spoiled by modern building department store in the middle square.

The third biggest square (after Karlovo and Václavské náměstí in Prague) in the Czech Republic is in the center of Jihlava city - the capital of Vysočina Region.

Living and breathing history of city Jihlava and also former Austrian-Hungarian Empire, city center was untouched by both world wars and communism era of building ugly stuff everywhere, keeping it's typical central european architecture intact

The Masarykovo namesti means Masaryk Square (Masaryk was a great Czechoslovak President before II world war). Square is huge and impressive but in the centre is awful post communist building. Now there are store and McDonald's. Around the square you can see beautiful old buildings....More

One of the biggest square with excellent old houses and church, but with the non erasable footprint of communism - shopping center in the middle of the old square.. Such a stupidity is not easy to find.
