This is quite a strange concept but a beautiful park next t o a stream with various haiku written in various places. I was aware of what a haiku was but to see it as a theme is very unique. LOvely to sit and ponder the poetry. Sitting in a park Reading haiku on rocks.

Discovered this place after a trip to the local information centre. It's just a lovely, quiet spot where one can sit, amble along the pathway or chill out with the words from the Hikus hopefully inspiring you or allowing time for contemplation.

Well worth doing this stroll. Mainly all flat and traels all the way along the river through Katikati. Lots of art and interesting things to look at along the walk. Lots of bird life.

Take the driveway down between Robert Harris Cafe and the Hardware store. There's a good carpark. The park is lovely to walk through beside the local stream and Haiku poems adorn pathside rocks. there are also some Haiku poems on the pathways but sadly many of these are not easily read because of the weathering of the concrete. There are... More

Pleasant walk along Haiku Path as it is very interestingly walking along the river n reading all the Haiku verses carved on the rocks as you walk along. You can cross over the road n carry on walking n come across the marshes where you see the different types of bird life. If you are more adventurous you can keep... More

Chosen as a Millenium Project, these hand carved boulders are the largest boulder display outside of Japan and in the haiku tradition meant to evoke moments. The pathway of haiku boulders is slightly of the main road and alongside the Uretara Stream. (All streams, rivulets, bridges and brooks seem to be named in New Zealand!). The adjoining park is peaceful... More

Short, but well maintained path with haiku poetry stones along the way. There are longer, more picturesque walks in Kati Kati though.

Alot of work has gone into this pathway and is a pleasure to walk or cycle on. It is very picturesque and in the centre of Katikati township.

I've visited the Haiku pathway twice now and I'm still not sure that i've had the full experience. Either that, or I'm walking the wrong paths. There are numerous haikus etched into rocks, etc alongside the pathway for you to enjoy. Though the pathway itself feels like a (admittedly well made) concrete strip running alongside a budding subdivision. It almost... More
