This really was the most relaxing vacation I've ever had. If you at looking for a quiet remote place, where you can go swimming in turquoise waters, walking in ruins, going for whale watches, or just sitting on your tush relaxing and reading a book; then this is the place for you. Also this is a paradise for both divers... More

Salt Cay is a quiet corner with fascinating history, and stunning waters. It is a tiny 2.5 square mile island, largely taken up by abandoned salt ponds. The beaches are stunning.

We came to dive and whale watch, since it is migration season. The island is very small, and we had a golf cart to get around. We did do some walking, as well (but golf carts are just plain fun). Be sure to go to the north side beach. At least when we were there, the temperatures (water and air),... More

Just amazing! nothing to do besides snorkel, go out on the whale-watching boat, sit in the sand, eat drink and be merry. If you're not able to entertain yourself listening to waves crash for days on end, this place isn't for you. But if you're looking for a real escape, man this is it! a few tips: stop at the... More

Put this one on your bucket list! Love the quiet, historical salt raking community. People are kind and friendly. Make sure you find all the island stores, Ms Pat Simmons home cooked meals, and Ms Nettie's bread, and if you dive or snorkel, the excellent service of Salt Cay Divers

The flight from Provo to Salt Cay was a bit frightening but well worth the scare. We rented the Purple Conch for about a week, it was awesome. We brought some food, bought stuff at a small stand, and ate at Porter's Island Thyme (amazing food and staff). The house came with bikes so we rode around to all the... More

Hidden gem in Salt Cay, pristine beaches on the north and rocky beachcombing on the south side. Highly recommend renting a golf cart to get around even though the island is small the heat is intense so walking is a hot endeavor and biking is a challenge on the rocky roads. The islanders are very friendly and helpful. We stayed... More

Salt Cay is a wonderful place - quiet and no frills. This is not a place for people who cannot entertain themselves. The island has few year long residents but during the November to April time frame Northerners come to spend the winter. Some come for Whale watching from February thru March. Others come to scuba and snorkel. Some come... More
