Fantastic clean, beautiful beach

Perfect in all weathers, great beach, lots of places to stop and grab a bite in Tynemouth. Great for dogs out of the summer season too.

Lots of people attracted by sunny Sunday in February so quite hard to find a spot to park, but great for a bracing walk (dogs only welcome from Oct to May)

walked from North end to middle of beach and back, bracing Easterly wind. Lovely soft sand, with only a coupleof rocky outcrops the whole length of the beach

We live nearby, and of all the beaches within our reach, this is the one we keep coming back to. It's very wide, not too crowded, you can bring dogs in the winter months, and the sand is very clean and soft. If it was sunnier, it would make Tynemouth a world class holiday destination, but English weather is one... More

There are also information boards with the history of the area if you are interested in culture. The ice cream van sells ice creams, lollies, buckets... More

A very clean wide beach which also gives views of the lighthouse and Tynemouth priory. Crusoes restaurant is a must for the weary traveller that requires beverages or food

A lovely stretch of golden sand, no dogs May to Sept but today there were loads of people walking their dogs and making the most of the free access at the moment. Long queues for tables at the two eateries overlooking the beach but a short walk into the nearby streets gives a huge choice of pubs and cafes for... More
