The Pascoli house-museum is close to the entry of our resort Il Chocco. Car has to be parked on the parking spot near pizzeria "Zi-Meo". Then you have to walk up to the hill through the metal gate. This museum keeps a lot of things related to famous local poet Giovanni Pascoli.

A few kilometers from the municipality of Barga in Lucca is the village of Castelvecchio Pascoli with Giovanni Pascoli's house-museum where the poet spent the last years of his life with his sister Maria. At the behest of his sister, everything remained intact and well preserved: it seems that time has stopped here. The villa is very beautiful and so are the furnishings where the many books that came from the archives of Bologna are also kept. The garden is well cared for where you have the feeling of an ancient atmosphere and also the small church. The guided tour with the kind and expert young lady was interesting. Convenient parking before the driveway that leads to the villa.

The Tuscan residence of Pascoli is one of the very rare examples of a home that has remained intact as when the owner lived there. At the behest of Pascoli's sister, nothing was touched and it is not possible to take photographs inside. The guided tour is mandatory and very interesting; but pay attention to the times, because they are not the same every day.
