We only walked up to the 1st drawbridge as it was getting late. This walk is definitely not to be missed. The views are breathtaking all the way. Looks as good as the photos online, if not better seeing it in person. Definitely the highlight...More

Our round-trip hike from the Hillary Alpine Center to Hooker Lake was one of the best we ever taken...comparable to any in Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Zion Valley, Interlachen, and Bavaria. The scenery was spectactular all along the well-maintained trail that was primarily up the...More

What a beautiful trek! Easy flat terrain hiking paths and well maintained tracks. Got to cross over a few nice bridges and the views are really pretty. At the end of the trek, you will reach Hooker Glacier lake. It also depends on which season...More

....We started with part cloudy weather and you will have really nice views the way, bit after a while it's a bit boring, not much changes of the environment. Anyway, it's 3-4 hours return and it's very easy, even for kids. Take some snacks, make...More

We did Hooker Valley track as a family of 4, 2 young boys 6 & 4. Weather was great, sun was out. Easy enough track to bring the kids. We made it a little past the 2nd bridge, once Mt Cook became visible. About 2...More

We came to Mt.Cook and had a whole afternoon spare on arrival. The man in our hostel said the Hooker valley track was an easy 3-4 hour at most track so we set off. Easily found. Easily followed and well maintained. 3 suspension bridges over...More

The track is pretty crowded (especially during summer) but that doesn't mean it's not worth a visit. The track itself is already stunning with the bridges and the streams but the best part of the track is the end of it. When your standing in...More

Yes it's safe to hike the track alone as long as you stay on the formed track at all times. It's not safe to walk off the track anywhere in alpine areas.

Hi, the track isn't challenging but I don't recommend the stroller as you will probably be carrying it more than using due to the track not being stroller friendly.
