What travellers are saying
- The_Mystery_GuestUxbridge350 contributionsThis inspirational 3½-acre garden is well planted with interesting specimens, both informal and formal.
An almost level path, rising to the north-east of the garden, is punctuated with seating allowing the visitor to relax and take in the various views.
My mother was almost able to go all the way round the garden on her mobility scooter, but unfortunately was unable to complete a full circuit as at least one ramp needs adding over the steps about the formal rose garden.
The Charlton Viaduct, which dominates Kilver Court garden, creates a dramatic backdrop to all the flora.
I didn't see the duck family during this visit - usually with their latest brood - possibly because the pond they normally occupy is in bad need of attention; the islands were all overgrown and the algae has taken over.
However, following a change of owner-ship of Kilver Court and a period of neglect, it would appear that attention has returned to the garden as throughout our visit someone - who was clearly in charge - was instructing a tradesman with regard to various garden tasks.
Did see an egret, but due to 'finger trouble', completely failed to get a decent photograph.
For anyone interested in horticulture, Kilver Court Garden is well worth a visit.Written 16 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The local wine was really good too. The owner was happy to chat with us and the atmosphere was very “laid back” It was a Mother’s Day treat and thoroughly enjoyable. Really hoping to go back before too long.😊Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

The place was much bigger than expected, giving kids endless places to explore and burn off energy. Parents can relax with a coffee/ snack and get some well earned chill time.Written 18 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This charming festival celebrates its most famous resident James Allen, the Victorian cultivator of the snowdrop. A series of venues with snowdrop helpers guide one from A to B, around the town to memorable landmarks connected with Allen known as the "Snowdrop King". And Snowdrops abound at this time in the parks; Kilver Court Gardens and Collett Park as well as in St Peter and Paul's Church to mark the occasion. Snowdrops and their representations too are well in evidence on the many artwork, crafts and horticultural stalls.
One of the highlights is the presentation of poetry and photographs to celebrate the snowdrop, Nature and Springtime generally which has really put this festival and Shepton Mallet on the map since it has attracted contributors form as far away as India, China, Burma, Pakistan making this year by year a renowned International and worthwhile Festival and a credit to ours organisers.Written 23 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PrettyPetalsSomerset, UK5 contributionsNice refreshing outdoor pool, needs money spent on it... Very dilapidated and old. Not very clean in changing rooms, pool had scum around the edges and full of flies.
Water ice cold, and colder than any outdoor pool previously used.
Nice coffee and fresh cakes.
Staff friendly.
