We visited Ecomare in the whitmonday weekend and expected it to be crowded, but it was definitely not. Sure there were more than enough people but because of the lay-out it has a relaxed feel. We thoroughly enjoyed the museum part and loved the seals!!!...More

We have no children and don't often go to zoos or aquariums, partially due to humane-treatment-of-animals issues. We did go to Ecomare and loved it. It's a bit expensive, yes, but we figure part of the price goes towards animal rescue/care operations. The seals were...More

We went on a busy Saturday but we still had a great time and could find good spots to watch the feeding of the seals. There are a lot of other things to see and do besides the seals. Definitely recommend this for families.

On Texel is nio much to do in Winter time so Ecomare was just a nice little change next to enjoying nature. Nice little museum and care center for seals. A bit more for children, but nice idea doing something for the environment too.

I used to go here as a kid on our summer holidays. Went back as a 32 year old and it was fantastic. There's multiple basins, they now have porpoises too, not just seals and birds. There's a lot to see inside as well. Very...More

We timed our visit so that we can catch both the dolphin and the seals demonstrations/feedings. Between those events, we visited the museum and aquarium and learned a lot about the ecology and history of the area. The museum is very modern, with many interactive...More
