Easy climb to summit. Amazing views of surrounding area. Now I can say I've climbed a volcano! Well worth it. Climb early morning to avoid the worst heat then go somewhere for late breakfast. Cannot recommended this enough. And it's free!

I went up three times this August with three different people, and enjoyed it each time. The views are good and the breeze is lovely, and the achievement of climbing a volcano is a nice one. I would recommend going up first thing or later...More

Maybe Im getting fitter but it took us less than 15 mins to walk to the top. Its a spectacular view and even more to explore around the inside or the caldera. We will always walk up here during our time in PB. And its...More

If staying in Playa Blanca its worth walking up this volcano. At the top you can walk around the crater. Cracking views, very windy and good shoes necessary.

It took us less than an hour to walk from flamingo beach up the volcano and around it. Brilliant for those who love to hike and explore but be warned - it is NOT an attraction. There is no signage, no plaques or information boards,...More

Well worth the trip for the fantastic views. Not a difficult climb even for my 7 year old. Took about 20 mins to the top and spent a good hour taking in the views.

I walked from where I was staying close to the centre of Playa Blanca to this small (dormant) volcanic mountain close by (3+km). The climb to the crater edge is not too steep and the view from the top looking out over Playa Blanca is...More

I wound my wife up that this would be difficult when it isn't. Do wear some form of walking footwear though as well as carrying some water (obvious). Views from the rim of the crater are worth the walk up so pick a nice clear...More

We walked up and around. Didn't see any monuments sorry. Lots of stones in piles . People's names written in stones.

To answer your question, if you are fit enough to walk to the top, the walk to the start is definitely within walking distance. The signage is not too brilliant but, in fact, it does become fairly obvious which path to... More

I would say best by taxi. From Tropical island a guess would be 6-7 euros. You could walk to there in about 25-30 minutes.
