Tucked away in the hillside area of Pietralunga known as Candaleto, A friendly trattoria opened only in the Summer months. The cuisine is ordinary but pleasant not a place to go for a celebratory meal but a very welcoming place none the less for an evening gathering with friends. Can you imagine two large outdoor swimming pools on the side of a hill surrounded by pine trees ? With a bar, a pizzeria, tennis courts, 5-a-side football pitches, a sun deck and open air concerts at the weekend. Well that is Candeleto. Perfect for families, relaxing,friendly and easygoing.…

For a family of 4 (over 13yrs) it cost 28EUR to use the pool facilities here. The pool water was clean and well maintained but overall the place was rather tired. Having taken three free sun loungers, we were restricted by the life guard to two. Our lack of Italian and his limited English left us unclear as to exactly why. It wasn't until we had climbed in the pool that we were made aware hats were mandatory and the guard kindly provided two for us.…
