- KestasKSVilnius, Lithuania3,741 contributionsFamous, bigIt’s one of the most famous and probably largest wine makers of Italy. Some exceptional wine like Solaia, Tignanello etc. The place is eye catching, large, well organized, somewhat posh. The service is good. The visits need to be booked online a couple of month in advance. The shop is walk-in, also selected tastings possible. Smaller wineries are more intimate, yet this is a big name.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 7 October 2023
- u2fan56London, United Kingdom879 contributionsOutstanding experience and great foodMy wife and I did wine tour and lunch at Antinori nel Chiant Classico while on vacation in Florence. It was a great choice and experience. The tour goes into detail on Antinori and their wine making history. Then a tasting of four wines. Then lunch at the restaurant. The best parts were the tasting and lunch. Great views and food. And a lot of food. About 60 minute taxi ride from Florence city centre. Highly recommend.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 October 2023
- Kyle F97 contributionsA Must Visit in ChiantiYou really must visit if you are in the chianti region. Worth the drive from hours around. A premier vineyard with a stunning property. Please book tours in advance and also make a reservation at the fabulous restaurant there. Really amazing food. I could spend the whole day there.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 17 May 2024
- SeasonedTraveler2720151 contributionsIconic Tuscany winery that must be visited if traveling to Florence or Tuscany. Stay for the lunch!Antinori bel Chianti Classico is a must for all who enjoy wine and are visiting Florence or Tuscany. This iconic property boasts a new vineyard finished about 11 years ago and is not only a very cool cellar experience but the tasting rooms suspended in glass boxes over looking the cellar provide a beautiful experience. We stayed for the paired lunch after which was set in the rooftop vineyard and offered delicious food and a relaxing and beautiful setting. The wine is 9/10, the lunch: food 8/10, ambiance 8/10, service 9/10. Overall, this was an A+ experience and a MUST visit!Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 August 2024

Good people fancy architecture but not for Jo average black coffee €5! wine tasting starts at €6 per drop
This is not Tuscany! cannot park at entrance. very long steep hill to visit. Built in 2012!!Not where it started. Symbolique of our sad times Go visit the other real wine farms where tasting is free and buy their wine. Just as good if not better

Beautiful and impressive structure with great views. The wine tour was informative, but for 45 euros would have expected a much better tasting experience. We tasted 3 of their new releases, entry level wines that came with a small plate of plain crackers. For the price we should have tasted a flight of their library wines with a charcuterie plate. Worth a visit but skip the tour.

We skipped the wine tour and instead just went to the wine shop to taste and purchase wines. In retrospect, we were very happy with that decision. You don't need reservations to go to the wine store, but do have to park in their parking lot across the main road. From there, you can either walk up the hill (probably around 15 minutes) or take the 7 person shuttle bus. It was crowded so we did end up waiting a while. The wine shop has a small tasting room in the back where you can sample about 10-12 wines on offer. Additionally, the store does have a large assortment of wines for purchase where you can pick up Tignanello and Solaia - unfortunately, there are now limits on how many bottles per family, but still nice to get directly from the vineyard. As others have noted, the place is very popular and did have a more commercial feel than other smaller vineyards in the area. However, the grounds are stunningly beautiful and the structure itself is like a modern art museum. Easily rivals the nicest vineyards in Napa Valley. We're glad we visited and this place is busy for a reason.

Our group of ten adults visited the Antinori Vineyard on our last day in Tuscany and it was an unforgettable experience. Lucrezia, our guide, was very informative and couldn't have been friendlier. Spending the day with her certainly added to our experience. The offerings were all excellent. We had the Bottaia CRU tour and the glass cube tasting room was incredible. Not only was the lunch delicious, the setting was second to none and the wine pairings were outstanding. We have visited several vineyards, but nothing can compare to the level of Antinori Vineyards.

360€ tasting of Cru wines with lunch excessive price for the service received. Nothing to say from an aesthetic/architectural point of view. Definitely very nice. Tasting and tour conducted by a not perfectly competent person. He couldn't answer many questions. High specialization is expected for the amount paid. Tasting of their Cru wines includes 4 wines for tasting, one of which is a Montepulciano noble from 20€, accompanied only by a few crackers. Lunch good but expected payment of any extra taste of food or wine. Overall we will not be returning. The beauty of a winery and the quality of some wine (Tignanello) are not enough, but to work with a competent public and not with wine tourists, you need preparation, high quality service and an approach with the most helpful public.

Did not take the wine tour, but went for a wonderful lunch. The winery is architecturally stunning with tremendous views over the rolling Tuscan hills. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. We were the last table left, but never felt any pressure to leave. Food was exquisitely prepared & of course, the wine was pretty good, too...

Last Monday we had a great afternoon at Antinori Nel Chianti Classico. Months in advance we had booked a private tour with tasting with a lunch in Rinuccio 1180.
After the delicious lunch the tour started through the impressive Antinori domain in Bargino near Florence. Our tour guide Chiara took us through the rich history of the Antinori house for almost 2 hours, the realization of the stunningly beautiful estate (which took no less than 7 years), of course the process of winemaking and the vision and quality perception of Antinori on it. We saw the production process up close and descended to the rooms where the wines were stored in lots of barrels. Everything very tight and hygienically organized; very impressive and interesting. Also because Chiara (only 24 years old, graduated and less than a year working at Antinori) spoke very passionately about wine and Antinori in fluent English and gave us a great afternoon. After tasting 4 top wines we bought some nice bottles and drove satisfied to our B&B.

This was our 4th winery in the Tuscany region. Unfortunately, it was my least favorite and I was really looking forward to it. The tour was very sterile and was very technical about the wine making process. The tour guide didn’t even mention any of the family or small stories of the family and this unique winery. At times it was repetitive and a bit boring. She could have done better with her presentation with enthusiasm and inflection. Granted there was a small movie at the beginning of the tour about the family but that was it about them. Such a disconnected experience compared to other wineries that mix in both the process, history of the winery and family. It’s a large production facility that has a unique architectural design.
We took the tour in the morning with an afternoon lunch. The tasting was good and the lunch very lovely. Waiters were very nice but were crazy busy. The futuristic design was interesting. A good once see and be done experience. Not something I would actually do again.

We had driven past this very modern building numerous times on our way to and back from Florence and finally decided to stop to have a look. We drove into the driveway only to be told at the gates that we would need to use the car park across the road and catch the shuttle bus back up to the entrance. This we did which was easy enough, particularly given that it was January and there weren't too many people about.
Once back inside the grounds we climbed a large, wide spiral staircase up to the entrance. There were obviously a bunch of offices on one side of the building so we gradually walked down to the other end past a myriad of very ornate room displaying bottles of wines and masses of trophies. When we arrived at what we thought was the tasting room there was no staff member present. We waited around for a little while and then perused some of the displays before leaving without tasting anything.
Antinori are one of the largest Italian winemakers and make just about every Italian wine I can think of, many of which I understand, are very good. Certainly the awards cases were full.
But this ostentatious display of wealth was clearly aimed at the tourist market and not for us.

We are trying to book a tour for 6 adults and a 9 year old boy for sometime during the week of july 1-8. It indicates nothing is available during that period. Are you booked up or do you not book that far out?

Can you visit the winery and buy a glass or two without purchasing a tour? I am mostly interested in the architecture.

You can do just the shop. The tour was fabulous. The restaurant less so in terms of typical fare. At the end of the tour you sample three wines generously. Then you can hit the shop for more paid tasting, and whilst the shop is free standing from the tours, there is no point to go all the way there and not see the extraordinary cellars on the tour, very memorable
