There are many churches in Noto but we headed to Montevergine Church as we noted that you were able to climb to the roof terrace to see great views of the city. It's steep - it's narrow but worth the effort. There is a very old dilapidated organ in one recess and you can see down into the church through... More

Make sure you visit with a knowledgeable guide. The steps to the tower are quite steep but the view is worth the effort.

Great view of the church as you go up the street in front of it - Civic planning and architecture at their best as you see it framed by the palaces on either side of the road. A nice little church - Currently has a display on the religious guilds of the town which is interesting as a piece of... More

There are fantastic balconies on the outside, with richly carved figures supporting the overhang. Inside is as magnificent.

You get a lovely view approaching the Church up the Via Corrado Nocolaci with the Palazzo Nicolaci di Villadorata on the left with its fantastic balconies. The interior of the church is lovely and light with a superb marble altar. The interior is full of the robes worn by the various fraternities in Noto and for a small fee of... More

Walking from Corso Vittoria Emanuele, up via Corrado Nicolaci ( the street where they have the Inforiata di Noto floral exhibition in May ), you see on via Cavour at the top, the concave facade of Chiesa di Montevergine, San Girolamo, framed on the left by the balconies of Palazzo Nicolaci. Up a short flight to the main door, the... More
