Stunning

Great place for a stroll and found a lovely open air restaurant at the entrance. I imagine it will get really crowded in the season so visit in spring great weather no crowds.

The Vendicari Reserve is one of the most beautiful places on the Sicilan coast. But on our visit in April we found that most of the trails were closed off and that there was only a small section that could be visited. Very disappointing.

We visited in January but the weather was kind while we were there. This is a large reserve, probably covering up to 4 miles of the coast, and is clearly signed from the main coast road. There is mixed habitat, including scrubland, lagoons, beaches. The reserve is home to flamingos, various egrets and, it is said, pelicans in winter (we... More

had visited 15'years ago and it was heartening to see that not much has changed. Last time i was there with a group of photographers, this time with archeologists. Have to say it was fascinating that there was a necropolis almost on the beach here. The weather was still warm enough to swim, and i can recomment amvisit for familiesmor... More

I went here 3 times in a month and saw something new each time. Relaxing walk along the sea. You can be here for just an hour or all day.

Bees , mosquitos , algae , plastic bags and beer bottles this Oasi is a JOKEEEE Sicilian Style. The sea has nothing to offer , no plant life and no fish life . Calamosche is a super cramped beach worth 15 minutes visit , but everything else you can easily skip it

There is a mix of pantani (marches), sandy beaches (not many and overcrowded) and rocky beaches (quiet, although challenging for children). I have to say this is not a place to go to go to the beach! This is a fantastic place to go for walks and have a splash or more to cool down where you can find an... More

Coastal path through sand dunes besides lagoons with flamingos and many other birds - there are hides for serious birdwatchers. Interesting ruins of an old tuna fishing village with a small museum. You must stay on the designated paths as it's a very sensitive environment for many rare species. No shade - carry plenty of water!

Not easy to find, but worth a visit. follow the handmade directions and go to the parking and from there you can appreciate walking through the nature until you find the small bay.

Luckily we had a book on walking in sicily so were prepared for the 4k walk to the beach through stunning marsh lands, a run down tuna factory and over the headlands with beautiful views out to sea. The beach itself was small but quaint and busy at peak times however being able to cool off in the water was... More
