The lady with the cash register will tell you that you have to go up 3 floors of normal stairs. IT IS NOT TRUE. they are impervious and narrow stairs. He will also tell you that you can avoid the spiral staircase. IT IS NOT TRUE. that is, instead of the spiral staircase you can go up the narrow and impervious ramps BUT they are the ones intended for descent, so that if halfway you meet the group coming down you will have to turn around. That's all well and good but the truth needs to be told.

…let me start by saying that I have only seen this beautiful Church in Noto from the outside!!…dedicated to Santa Chiara!!…it is located right in the historic center!!…here there are many other Palaces…very beautiful!!…and they represent the best of the Sicilian Baroque!!…it is said that inside the Church you can see very important works!!…like the painting dedicated to Santa Chiara!!…and the nineteenth-century altarpiece of San Benedetto and Santa Scolastica!!…and also the statue of the Madonna and Child!!…this beautiful Church in Noto is absolutely worth visiting!!…

this church is not unique or extra beautiful, but inside - in the main background, there is the visible word "yehova" (jehova), which is the explicit name of god in Hebrew, written in an acient style Hebrew letters. this is peculiar and I couldn't find an explanation for it.

Located on the main drag of the old town, the church is easily found. Originally attached to the monastery, it has been restored and reopened in the last decade.
This is a gem. The interior is painted white but beautifully gilded in gold, with plenty of stucco and cherubs. The ceiling painting in the entrance is particularly attractive.

If you are prepared to persevere in a reasonably tight spiral staircase for a few minutes you will be rewarded with a stunning view over Noto. If you are particularly lucky the bells may ring while you are up there! Definitely a must do in Noto. My 5 year old loved climbing up and the view!

The church is a fine example of Baroque, I loved the darker edges on the sparking white defining the decorative features along the ceiling edge.
I found off putting having to pay to go on the terrace for the view, which I guess (after studying the map) is no different that the free view from neighbouring places. Why? You are nuns...

Small beautiful baroque church. At the side is a stairway to the bell tower (you have to pay)
The tower gives you a wonderful access to a view over Noto
It is quite a site and worth taking a lot of photos
We were quite shocked when the bell was accidentally rung by someone
Still well worth the climb for the view

Worth spending 2 euro per person to see the view from the top of the bell tower. In busy times the staircase can be a bit congested.
