Earlier this week I took my wife and daughter, who is an architect, for a day's visit to Noto. We found this church closed and when I enquired at the tourist office whether it would open later in the day I was told that they did not know because it was opened (if at all) by volunteers. On my way... More

We initially missed this sight & walked right by it because of its rather plain exterior. I'm glad we doubled back to find it. The main reason to go was the rooftop views of the city from the bell tower, but the décor in the church was worth the stop as well.

Visiting this church is not only a great experience, walking to the roof of the church, enjoying the incredible view towards the golden buildings of the municipio and the Duomo di San Niccoló. It is also a trip into the past, when girls of the noble families were lured into becoming suore di clausura (closed-in nuns) and pushed into the... More

Yet another church. But in this one you get to climb the tower. At first I was disappointed as I thought the E2 was a bit steep for a view from the first floor. Then I saw you could keep on going up. At the top you overlook Noto with great views of the cathedral. Worth every penny/cent

Definitely worth taking time out on a visit to Noto to have a look at the Baroque Church of St Clare and to climb the stairs (not too long or steep if reasonably mobile) to the roof terrace for panoramic views of this lovely town. The interior of the church is free but it's 2 euros for access to the... More

The church is an example of classic baroque architecture, the interior however appears to have been completely refurbished while beautifully done the lack of patina take away from the charm.

Lovely church - with a great Baroque interior. You can climb the tower for a fee - We chose not to as we had visited a panoramic terrace on one of the palaces for free as part of an art exhibition.

always a fan of church/tower climbing for the panorama view of the city...visited in 2014 Winter time. It is the church of a monastery of an enclosed religious order, as we could see especially from the grates on the windows

Few meters after the main St.Nicholas Cathedral, along the main street on the left hand side is this beautiful Church. Being right on the street, so close to you, you cannot figure out it's grandeur. Inside is greatly decorated (seems like recent refubrishment) and there's a great bell tower panorama, only 80 steps away.

Lovely church with climb up to the roof, from where you can see much of Noto. There is some useful information on the former usage as part of a nunnery as you go up.
