A small but fascinating output of the natural aquifer. The surrounding area filters the rain water through the hills and out of the Blautopf. A small quaint village surrounding the "pond" with beautiful buildings and the imposing monastery. Small groups of persons walk around the...More

I have not seen water with this colour anywhere else. Definitely worth a visit. But it is very crowded, the footpath around the (very small) lake is full of people taking selfies...

Old quarry now filled with clear water allows very nice photographs with reflections of surrounding buildings. Nice walk around the pool but can be muddy after rainfall

Highlight of Blaubeuren, worth a visit. Pretty blue/green lake. Feels like a leftover piece of the Middle Ages.

It's a nice little trip from town and well worth a visit. A short hike goes around the Blautopf with plenty of opportunities to snap some pictures.

Yes, at the town of Blaubeuren. Strollers are OK...Also east to "stroll around" the grounds. I don't remember seeing any dogs. And certainly not in the water. see travelwithjan
