This place had the right amount of bonkers rides I was expecting from a Japanese theme park.
I have to start by referencing the coasters. Nagashima has some of the more unique coasters and is definitely a place I’d come back to just for that reason.
Both Steel Dragon 2000 and Hakugei are brilliant and provide just enough intensity to ensure a fun, thrilling and enjoyable ride. In all honesty, I don’t think my bottom touched the seat on Hakugei.
You also have coasters like Arashi and Ultra Twister. Both these rides are nuts so don’t be lulled by their short stature.
For me, the biggest disappointment was the operations. We went on a quiet Monday but had long waits for a few of the rides. We waited almost 45 minutes for Hakugei as it was running one train and the shooting dark ride was at least 35 minutes as operations just weren’t as slick as they could be.
Also worth noting that the lines for the major rides shut early too due to the above issue so were shutting around 4pm which was a let down.

Excellent theme park with a great selection of roller coasters. We visited on a Monday and the park was really quiet. Our longest queue was around 15 minutes, most were less than 5 minutes.

I’ve been to Nagashima Spa Land twice. In my opinion it’s the best amusement park I’ve ever been. Would go a third time as well 😂
Great attractions, good snacks or food and everything is clean.
Definitely a huge recommendation

Park is huge and needs time to walk from one place to another. We went in winter Dec, it was so empty and no queues to the rides at about 2pm. Paid the entrance fee and rides separately

Have to say the rides in the park are very exciting and thrilling. comparable and some signature ride are even better than six flags. Downside is that there is no single rider scheme. Queue movements are generally slow as capacity is not maximize. Am here on a Saturday, perhaps weekday will be better.

I’ve been traveling to amusement parks all over the world and have been on some pretty amazing roller coasters. Japan has a good list of top favorites when it comes to roller coasters. This park is extremely clean. One of the cleanest parks I’ve ever been to. All the major roller coasters were open at gate drop but after two trains on Steel Dragon finished their circuit, the ride closed due to high (not so high) winds and never re-opened. If your goal is to ride this ride, be warned that the slightest breeze will close it down. Maybe be the first in line and sprint there when the gates open to be the first on the ride.
Hakugei is all that it’s hyped up to be! I’ve never been thrown around in my seat on a roller coaster as much as I have on this one. It’s everything you would expect on an RMC. Similar to other guest reviews, they have very different loading and line styles in Japan. Safety and experience are very important and it shows the way they load the trains. They take extra time to make sure each person is loaded correctly and go over safety multiple times. As an American, I’m all about speed and efficiency but in Japan, speed is not life. Expect long wait times (especially on a busy day) because they don’t load the trains as quick as one would expect. For Hakugei, if you have something extra cash on you, buy the Priority Ticket for 1,000¥ which you can get at the ride entrance. I rode it twice, once in the regular line and once in the priority line. The regular line took 1.25 hours and the priority line took 10min.
The same loading style happens on all the major rides so bring some patience, reading material or someone to keep you company because you’ll be waiting a lot. They do have free lockers at all the major rides so you don’t have to leave your bag at home. The park itself is very vibrant. Lots of colors, theming and it’s extremely clean. Highly recommended for people of all ages.

We went there in summer and anticipated the weather to be sizzling. But then it rained and the weather became more bearable. The crowds and the queue were shorter/ smaller so that was a bonus. There are ample coin operated lockers both at the entrance and also inside the park. Do bring some money with you before you lock up the lockers (can be locked once, or you have to pay again. Around 600yen), because you might need to buy some snacks and some slides required kids shorter than 130cm to wear life-jackets - they are available for hire. Do bring a buoy or swimming ring plus plenty of sunscreen and a hat. The restrooms and showers are fairly well equipped. There is an indoor area for kids younger than 9yrs old. On a cooler day, there are lots of onsen spas for people to warm themselves in between rides. Do bring some sandals or flip flops to wear in the park because the grounds could be quite hot to walk on.

We’ve been to Fuji Q Highland and Tokyo Disney but this park is the best. Loved the water park! There is a great mix of rides for kids and grown ups.

When getting from Nagoya Station to Nagashima Spa Land it looks like we can either take the train then bus, or direct bus. The bus would certainly be easier but if we have a JR pass, I know the train would be covered. My question is, is the Meitetsu bus covered by the JR Pass? If not, for the four of us it works out to be over $100 (Aud) in bus fares so it's quite a consideration. Thanks

I am not sure but this is more of summer vacation place as it is known for awesome pool area. So, I would expect limited crowd but there will be queue for popular rides.
Olá, gostaria de saber se nos primeiros dias de janeiro o parque estará lotado...Muito obrigada pela a sua atenção....

Do we have to pay per ride or is there just a one time entrance fee? The website is in Japanese, i wish there are information in English.
