The illuminations were wonderful. Something like 8.5 million lights adorn the trees, bushes, hedgerows and ponds. Two beautiful tunnels of lights and yes it gets crowded as does any popular attraction. There are wonderful animated sequences with music. The location is normally a botanical garden which is transformed into a winter wonderland. There is also the Begonia House and circular, rising observation deck available at an extra cost to view the park from above. There are many restaurants and food stalls from ramen to Italian to Sushi, so you won't go hungry. Gifts and souvenirs are also available which is where many people were redeeming their vouchers--the entrance fee of 2100 yen includes 2 X 500 yen vouchers, so admission is really only 1100 yen (about $10 US). Easy to get to in about 10 minutes by direct shuttle bus from Kuwana Station. It does get cold (in January) so dress appropriately!

Best to come just on sunset and then experience the entire place transform. Beautiful illuminations, as its popular, best to wait until the main crowds move on through, then you have some relative peace and space to enjoy the attractions.
Also this really retro flying saucer ride it cute. The extra charges to see the other things I didn't deem worthwhile and the entire place can be enjoyed in two hours.
It also started to rain and there is little cover and no umbrellas provided to be prepared.
No easy to get to if on public transport, but there is a direct bus from Nagoya Station for Y2,000.

It was crowded, but going there was pretty straightforward buying tickets from the Meitetsu Bus Center in Nagoya. Do note that you cannot book in advance, you can only book ON the day itself for the trip. :)

The scenery there was amazing and it only gets better at night, when everything simply illuminates in your eyes. Definitely worth going in any situation.

We traveled out of Nagoya city to spend our evening at this special event. The whole premise were beautifully lighted up in different themes. The most famous of all is the tunnel of light, which is very instagramable but it's hard to take a nice individual photo with so many people crowding around the area. The ticket comes with a food voucher but there were not alot of choices. We tried the mochi from one of the shop and it tasted really good - not too sweet and very chewy. Good to be here for a day trip to explore the outside of Nagoya.

You must visit this when in Nagoya. Nagoya isn’t very large so probably 3 days to see most of the city when you’re on your way through to Nagoya would be enough.
There is a large theme park beside it as well. We went during the late evening during winter December and it was delightful.
The beautiful lights were magical and in this created images of mountains, oceans and shapes. Have a look at the photos. Walking by the lake was breathtaking.

The place was absolutely crowded when we went, and the lights were nice but did not really wow us. The main illumination was a short light show of about 2-3 minutes that ran on a loop. Apart from that, there were other attractions that were chargeable (not included in the 2500 yen ticket).

I wouldn't recommend making a trip out here unless it's on the way.

Love the iillumination displays here! Visited in Feb-23 and it was very very cold at night, but it didn't dampen our excitement a single bit. It was relatively crowded when we were there, but that doesn't stop us from taking a lot of photos. I really like Japan illuminations, and I'm glad I finally was able to visit Nabana no Sato. Would definitely recommend to people who love illuminations!

Visited on Sun 19 Mar 2023 with my hubby. Reached about 730pm, not too crowded, mostly locals. We are staying at Hotel.Nagashima and the entrance fee to this place is free for hotel guest. Love this place. Also paid ¥600 per adult to ride the “flying saucer” up to see the place from the air. Honestly, can skip ride unless u want to see the whole place from the top. The light illuminations is amazing. Plus it’s Sakura viewing period. Definitely must visit if you are in Nagoya.

I came here because I heard the illuminations were beautiful. I arrived in the evening, walked around, and had an early dinner. By the time I finished dinner and came out, the sun had set and the illuminations were beautifully lit. It was a shame that the rules of passage were not followed in places where there were no attendants. Considering the crowds, it might be less crowded on weekday evenings than on weekends. I had never been here before, but I wish I had come earlier.

Entrance fees were expensive ¥2,500 per pax. Each pax will have ¥1,000 credit to spend at cafe/souvenir shops. Sadly, the Island Fuji Observatory cannot be redeemed. The 200m LED illumination was stunning. This is only available after 3rd week of October. Laser show was great too.
