The Innoshima Bridge was my favorite of them all while cycling the Shimanami Kaido. This one had a bike path under the bridge which I found to be unique and exciting. It was neat how you had a path just for bikes, pedestrians, and mopeds built under the road. You get great views from this bridge as well like the others. This was the last bridge for me as I ended in Onomichi.

All the bridges on the Shimanami Kaido cycle route were fantastic - the approaches we a gradual incline and the cycleway was separated from the main carriageway.

This is one of seven large bridges connecting Honshu with Shikoku as a part of the famous 70-km Shimanami Kaido. It has a sepentine ramp at both ends, so it's not too steep to manage, even with 40kg of kit strapped to the bike. Walkers are welcome on the paths, too. The views are outstanding, almost magical.

This is the first bridge on the Shimanami Kaido Cycleway going from Onomichi. It is a suspension bridge and the cycle path is on a level below the car traffic. It is caged in and very secure, but still gave you a spectacular view. Crossing the bridge went for maybe 1.5km, but it felt like it as over in no time as we spent the time admiring the view.

I came to this place twice with my friends in the same month, LOL
I like sea view and so does this place. Very crowded in the weekend especially in the morning and evening.
you can go to the observation spot to see which island is which.

By bicycle, cross this bridge under the road, on a separate bicycle path. Visit Ohama park for a swim, on the Innoshima side at the foot of the bridge. If you have the energy, ride inland as you exit on the Innoshima side. This takes you along the Innoshima Flower Line panoramic road to Mt. Shirataki, with its hundreds of mini Buddhas, terminating at the Innoshima flower center (free). Just down the road, across from the Flower Center, is a very good Italian restaurant, Un Passo.

A highlight of a cycling trip. The views are fabulous and are a reward for the not too difficult ride up to the bridge on the cycle track. I used a motor assisted bicycle and it was great. The rest of my family had regular bikes and managed easily. Crossing the bridge has neen a highlight of our journey.

Got driven there by a local and dropped off at one side. Got permission to walk over the bridge from one of the toll attendants. Walked across and took in the views. Not for the faint hearted or one who suffers vertigo. This type of activity would definitely not be allowed in Australia.
