This was a terrific walk along the river and enjoyed the bridge views. We took the local bus to the river gorge from the hotel which was easy. After completing the walk we stopped and had a cup of tea at the many local cafes

My wife and I walked the gorge in the autumn in 2015 with all the vibrant colors of the maples and other trees. We thought this the most beautiful walk in Japan. We visited Yamanaka Onsen for three days in March and this walk is just as stunning as in the fall, just different. The cherry trees are budded but... More

The park is really peaceful and quiet. It has a beautiful view along the river. Distance between 2 bridges is around 1.3 Km. There is a lovely coffee shop close to the Kuratani bridge and also the elegant Higashiyama shrine. It's worth to visit.

Very scenic walk along the river with small waterfalls flowing into the river every couple of hundred metres. Our hotel provided gumboots for the walk which were a great idea (we were there in winter). Entry points to the walk are a little difficult to find so get directions from your hotel

we had a wonderful walk along the gorge and the view was breathtaking. I suggest to walk from down stream and walk up to end up in the quaint little town of Kaga Onsen which had lovely coffee shops and eateries.

A gorgeous walking trail in Yamanaka-onsen along the river with interesting bridges. Autumn is amazingly beautiful with colorful leaves and clear sky. It's very easy to access but it's not very crowded

It was hot and muggy but we still enjoyed our walk. There were interesting shrines and restaurants along the trail.

This was a beautiful place to walk and it seemed like most of the people walking around town didn't bother to walk along the river for some reason but we were grateful that they only seemed to focus on the 2 bridges in town. Some of the scenery is gorgeous along the way. Especially the moss covered rocks and roots!
