We parked and went for a late afternoon stroll around the lake near the village shops. Ended up walking over the new pedestrian bridge to the Church of the Good Shepherd. Was a beautiful spring day, lupins flowering, sun shining. Church is very lovely, very Scottish.

You can't miss this tiny church. Sitting on the lake it is a lovely church with a good history. Don't miss it.

A small church on the lake front which is still in use today. Magic backdrop, lots of flowers on the shore depending on the time of year, get in early before the buses arrive, think about others and do not stand in front of the church if you are doing nothing, let others get their photos. Rabbits around, hunting dog... More

The church is still active and is used on Sunday. When we arrived a congregation was inside so we did not see the interior of the church. The church is right beside the lake and the scenery was breathtaking.

Well worth a visit. A smal Church overlooking Lake Tekapo. Can be quite busy with coach loads of tourists. Still being used as a working Church and so you need to be respectful, such as not taking pictures in the building itself.

The church is still used on Sundays both by Anglican and catholic. Very quaint and serene. Unfortunately you cannot take photos inside but through the door a photo will still show the snow capped mountains behind the alter.

The church is located in front of the lake. Nice view and romantic place to have a wedding ceremony.

It sits on the edge of the breathtakingly blue waters of Lake Tekapo. A very small stone church. The backdrop is formed by snow clad mountains. It is a beautiful photo opportunity. Walk down besides the church for a minute and you are at the lake. The scenery is just marvellous and any amount of time you spend there will... More

This is still operating as a church and is open between 9-5 every day. One of the wardens comes and unlocks and stays to talk to visitors. You're not allowed to take photos inside the church, but can take as many as you like outside. It's a very solid little church and we were so happy just to sit quietly... More
