Passing the túnel you will find the most beautiful beach it is really worth sataying a while. Perhaps bring snack/lunch and enjoy the... in the entrance is always people selling coconut water and other items , this place is great .

I’d read up on this beach and thought it to be quiet, not very touristy, no facilities, and a private beach spot. We arrived at 5pm to find many tourists, several food trucks, and bathrooms. The beach on the other side of the tunnel was quiet when we visited, but not suitable for swimming due to the rocks along the shoreline. There are plenty other lovely beaches in Puerto Rico - I wouldn’t make the trip out here if you were located over an hour away (like we were). There are some nice murals on the walls though, so good for a stop if you’re in the area.

This a neat historic site with beautiful views. There is an old train tunnel the United States built to help transport sugar cane. You can still see where the old train track ran. If you go through the tunnel and walk a little further you come to an isolated beautiful beach! There is amazing artwork that make great photo opportunities. Also a pretty beach right by parking lot.

This is an old train tunnel built to help transport sugar cane. After the tunnel, you can explore some little caves and hidden areas in the path. Continue walking, and you will end up in a secluded beautiful beach! Only recommended to walk, explore its beauty and relax- not for swimming!

Excelente place for photography enthusiasts. Gorgeous spot after when you pass the tunnel; blue skies and Atlantic Ocean, raging waves and rocks to sit. One thing makes me sad- trash everywhere 😢😢

Yes there are great views here but they are not worth the risk. Go somewhere else.
Graffiti garbage and drug paraphernalia everywhere!!!!!

no food ,and to much garbage all around, not a secure place.not a family place,and they don't have a secure parking lot.

The tunnel itself do quite short- you can see the other side from the entrance. The beach itself on the side where you enter is sandy but the waves were much too strong the day we were there (not sure if it’s always like this?). There is no beach once you exit the tunnel either as it is all rocks. The view is beautiful though. If you keep walking the path narrows. There used to once be a rock ledge and part of it is now missing. Watch your step! Continue to follow the path and eventually you come out to a beautiful sandy beach but again the day we were there the waves were too strong to swim in. Be warned you will have to walk down a short dirt hill which was quite slippery to get here.
The whole place was really clean, despite many other reviews stating there’s lot of garbage.
ADMISSION: free
PARKING: there is an area to park within a less than a minute walk to just the tunnel itself.
EAT: there was no food here or vendors the day we went. Other reviews have stated there are days where vendors are there.
WASHROOMS: none
ACCESSIBILITY: the tunnel itself is wheelchair accessible but shortly after that the dirt/rock path eventually is not wide enough. The ledge is also missing for part of it so not safe for small children.

This place is amazing, it has a little bit of everything and if you're lucky, you can find artisans selling beautiful jewelry with Puerto Rican themes.
First of all, the place does not have a tour guide or a specific place where you can get literature and learn more about it (which is a pity because at one point it was crowded) nor have restrooms. So you have to be your own expedition manager. If you wonder nearby there are some local places where you can buy something to eat like "empanadillas de pulpo" or beers and they let you use their restrooms, if they have them available for the public.
This place has wonderful views for beautiful pictures, the wind is very strong so be prepared for the blows, it is also safe for children to climb on the rocks; supervised always by adults.
I'm sort of disappointed because we encounter a lot of trash inside and outside the tunnel that people left behind. We agree to return and clean it, so we did. I urge people that visit this place to keep your trash with you in bags and try to recycle because there are marked cans for recycling nearby too.

This place is gorgeous, one of the most beautiful spots in PR, in my opinion. However, I’m deeply saddened and disappointed at how dirty the grounds are. I wish people would demonstrate their Puerto Rican pride by keeping the land clean instead of boasting in partying and chugging down Medallas.

El Tunel de Guajataca esta ubicado en Isabela no en Quebradillas, deberian corregir esta mala información e investigar antes, el Merendero está en Quebradillas el Tunel en Guajataca, observen el mapa en Google, soy Isabelino y de los pocos ultimos nacidos allí, o sea de pura sepa!!! agradeceré corrijan la información

The tunnel is in Isabella, not Quebradillas. She is asking for the information to be corrected, it is EXTREMELY confusing when trying to get there because of the wrong city.
