A botanical garden which happens to have almost half an acre of impressive stained glass windows, the combination should be delightful for art lovers and plant lovers alike. Don't come here in a hurry, and you will have an extremely relaxing hour of taking in in all the plant species, made even more beautiful by the light seeping through the... More

This place is not well publicised, and indeed the helpful tourist information office is not so easy to find but seek it out. Near the cathedral / city hall in the old centre of town. Small entry fee ( closed Monday) Amazing stained glass, huge panels in a former market hall. Well kept minimalistic garden inside, tastefully done but the... More

Botanical garden mixed with beautiful stain glass art. A must see on a day off! The gardens replicated different places on earth from tropical, japan, desert and more!

If you love art Nouveau, don’t miss “Cosmovitral” at downtown in Toluca city. Was build at end of XIX century as a "Market" named “16 septiembre”, as it, was funtioning during 40 years, then government move market to another place and keep this nice building as a Botanic Garden. At Cosmovitral you will find reppresented duality between: man/woman - Angels/demons... More

This Botanical garden is within walking distance from downtown and offers a wide range of flowers, cactus and trees. The glass paintings at the entrance is very beautiful. there is a nominal entrance fee for this attraction. Not very big, but worth a visit

My wife and I had a stop at Cosmovitral on the way to the Piedra Herradura Monarch Butterfly Reserve last February. I'm glad this stop was included; I would most likely not have made the trip to Toluca just to see the Cosmovitral. That being said, it was well worth the time we spent there. The tour we had was... Toluca is an industrial city, not much to see there. Most attractions are day trips outside of the city. Aside from the cathedral and some other churches, this is a nice place to spend some time visiting. It is a botanical garden, so expect to see vegetation in a greenhouse environment. The place is a large space featuring a fountain... More

It used to be the marketplace but the building has been converted into an indoor botanical garden. When you walk in you're surrounded by stained glass windows and beautiful plants. The stained glass is along every wall and on the ceiling from the front to the back. There is a guide that gives an excellent, free, explanation of the glass... More

This was my second visit to Cosmovitral. Loved that the flowers were different on this visit. My first trip there was in January 2016 and it was filled with poinsettias, which were a lovely sight. This visit we saw orchids and other spring/summer flowers. I'll never get tired of viewing the stained glass. Just breathtaking!

This place is amazing. Toluca is a very industrial city, but at the same time very typical. The surroundings are really very Mexican, and as in all of Mexico, the people are very kind. Then, when you less expect, there is this place that has beautiful gardens surrounded by this magnificent vitral.
