With stunning views across Easter Ross to Ben Wyvis, Tollie Red Kites provides close-up views of our most graceful bird of prey. A team of volunteers feed the birds every day and you can watch them feed from the comfort of a specially-converted farmstead building.

We stopped off here on the way back from a trip to Loch Ness. We didn't have our binoculars but we had a good camera. The more serious birders had zoom lenses on their cameras and probably got a better view. We thought we had missed feeding time but the food showed up at 2 pm and they fed the... More

Thank you for your comments. We are looking to do something about the track once the forestry work has been completed and the large forestry vehicles have finally left the site. More

This is a must "go to" if you enjoy watching birds, especially magnificent Raptors, feeding time is the best time to be there.

Stumbled across this place by pure accident and thought we would explore. We were the only people here and judging by the ice on the track we were the first to arrive that day. No birds to be seen from the hide but on the drive there we did see a red kite and kestrel. I imagine at feeding time... More

Sorry you missed the feeding, if you are able please come again. At the moment we put the food out at 13.30, though this will change to 14.30 when the clocks change. More

Off the beaten path not too far from Dingwall you will find an RSPB station run by local volunteers. The volunteers feed the birds and share information about the different species found locally. We saw buzzards and red kites at the feeding station and learned a lot about the historic persecution of raptors in the area. We didn't know much... More

Just missed the organised feeding at 13:30 but kites still in the area. Magnificent birds! Great place to watch them and the surrounding area.

This is a great well reserve in a scenic location ran by the volunteers and the RSPB. It's a great opportunity to watch these gracious birds of prey up close. Also keep your eye out for Ospreys (as well as other wildlife) from Spring to Autumn as they breed nearby. If you are remotely interested in wildlife then this really... More

This RSPB reserve is easily accessed and well signed from the A835 about a mile towards Ullapool from the Dingwall roundabout. There is adequate parking space and it is well set up for viewing the Kites. Whilst there is no guarantee you will be very unlucky not to see them at feeding time which is 2.30pm during the summer and... More

My family and I visited Tollie Red Kites on a lovely afternoon and were treated to roughly an hour's viewing where we managed to see the Kites, but unfortunately they weren't for feeding on the day we visited. A case of nature having its own set of rules. The reason for the rating of this review was what happened afterwards.... More

Thank you for your comments, I'm sorry to hear the the experience was not as you hoped for. Whilst I'm sure you appreciate that as a charity we do rely heavily on the income generated through membership to carry out the work we do. However, this is no excuse for the 'heavy sell'. I will pass on your comments to... More

A great opportunity to view and photograph the beautiful red kites. Lovely views up there and lots of other wildlife to look out for too. RSPB volunteer was very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about the birds

The birds are fed at 2.30 each day and the day we were there we saw a few red kites though they didn't seem that eager to eat the meat put out for them by the 2 friendly girl RSPB volunteers! We were a bit disappointed by the low numbers of red kites having been to a feeding station in... More
