Martin Mere Wetland Centre is a must see and visit especially for wildlife lovers! The turning is just after Burscough Bridge! Be careful as Fish Lane is just at the bottom of the bridge first left (the bridge is on top of Fish lane). The children will be in their elliment including the adults

I took my 6yr old and my mum here for a nice day. We were happy to find the duck hunt was on so my son decided he was going to find all the giant ducks! The whole experience was really nice. It was clean and well kept throughout - all the bins were or must have been emptied regular... More

We had lunch and spent a very pleasant afternoon at Martin Mere. There were many varieties of ducks to see as well as swans, flamingos and geese. Unfortunately I think the otter saw me with a camera and decided to be camera shy, going into hiding, we didn't see any kingfishers, but they are elusive creatures. Plenty of fun for... More

Each time we visit there seems to be something that has been improved or some new development. Love the sculptures and the new walkways. Lots to see and plenty of helpful volunteers to answer questions.

Took our grandson to Martin Mere, a place we had never visited before. We hired a canoe and paddled our way around the mere, it was fabulous, relaxing, saw day old duckling up close and had a race with a couple of geese. The staff were terrific and gave clear instructions on how to paddle as we were novices. Then... More

Lovely few hours exploring, feeding the birds and playing on the excellent children's park facilities. Staff and volunteers very friendly and approachable. The geese had left for the season and the ducks looked like they had been fed so much seed over half term that I struggled to get rid of the bag of seed I had bought! Slight niggle... More

My first visit to Martin Mere and my husband's second time, although his last visit was many years ago. When we went in, we were a bit surprised by how much it cost to get in. However as our visit progressed we realised that the fee was actually very good value as there was so much to see. We stayed... More

A lovely few hours spent at Martin Mere as two young adults with an interest in nature. Despite the chilly weather for April we enjoyed strolling around the various bird hides and enclosures. We really enjoyed seeing the Mediterranean gulls, which we had read up on before visiting. Such a fantastic range of bird life, the flamingos and cranes were... More

Was looking for something to do on the bank holiday and was pleasantly surprised by Martin Mere. Lovely walk and a great environment for all the family. We took our 5 year old and she enjoyed the easter duck hunt as well as find out about the different types of ducks and wildlife. Lovely play area and onsite cafe. Staff... More
