Pitigliano is a very nice town, also called "little Jerusalem" because there is an important Jewish community. The town is practically perched on top of a tuff promontory and seeing it from afar is fascinating, it almost looks like a gigantic nativity scene. The cathedral (the cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul) is beautiful in baroque style, even if the tower is original, made of tuff. The church of Santa Maria and San Rocco is also very beautiful and is perhaps the oldest in the center of Pitigliano. Palazzo Orsini is also beautiful and in front of it is the Fontana delle Sette Cannelle, but the feature that makes the town recognizable from afar is the Medici Aqueduct which, in addition to being a stupendous work of art, is also an ingenious work that allows the distribution of water for the whole country.

The town of Pitigliano is located in the south of Tuscany in the province of Grosseto, 160 km from Rome. Its ancient houses are built on a 300-meter tuff rock and every nook and corner, every stone in the pavement breathes the Middle Ages. Historical facts indicate that in the pre-Roman period there was an Etruscan city here, abandoned in the 5th century BC. At night, the town is the magic of magic, but in our 21st century. Unforgettable and exciting!😍

PITIGLIANO Is a breathtaking town carved into the Tufo rock. Perched on a cliff of local stone, the town stands majestically as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Also known as Little Jerusalem, thanks to the large Jewish community it hosted within its walls in the 16th century. A Great Day to see this Awesome Village!

A village where tuff is king!!!! Where time seems to have stopped. Alleys and corners tell of a time gone by. Smiling people enjoy simple things. Absolutely not to be missed, especially at this time of year when the county festival takes on a medieval feel!

Historical hundred very well maintained. Several places of interest (Palazzo Orsini above all). Several views of the valleys below. Many places to eat and several parking lots (for a fee) quite close to the entrance of the Center.

Go for the Via cave walk, and visit the thermal springs nearby. A stunning looking place from the outside. Please avoid Tues and Wed, it seems that the shops close whilst we were there in 2nd week October.

Very beautiful and evocative country, you suddenly find it in front of you after a bend and you can't do anything but stop and photograph it….
Arriving in the center you can find parking quite well, both near the center and the cemetery/market area and football field…
The square and the entire historic center are beautiful
Very well served by bars and restaurants,
There is no shortage of shops selling typical products and souvenirs…..an excellent place to spend a day
Day of relaxation and carefree

We drove here and it's kind of out of the way. It's a unique place and we are glad we came. However, prior to arriving to this town, there wasn't much around... toilets, etc. And then when we arrived (Around 3:30 pm) a lot of places were closed. We found a public toilet but only one restaurant was open. Maybe it was low season? (End of October) So plan accordingly.

If you’re after an incredible day trip to a vibrant yet quaint town in Tuscany, Pitigliano is for you. A beautiful place, with a great view of the town itself and surroundings, lots of choice for food and a real Italian feel. Would love to go again.

If you are planning on visit the three famous tuff towns (Sorano, Savan, Pitigliano), this one should be in the top priority with more dedicated time.
Don't just rush through like many do, enjoy the views, take a look into the streets, they have a lot to tell. There are pretty good places to eat around as well.
I would recommend some good spots for photographers with following coordinates:
Historic town side view: 42.63384, 11.6706
Town panorama: 42.63092, 11.66202
Another, less impressive panorama: 42.63068, 11.66426
