There is a nice tour with audio for 7€ that gives access to and explanation of 10 rooms of Pope Pius II's palazzo. Very interesting paintings, furniture, weapons, etc. from the 1400s. This tour lasts about 20 minutes so you don't have to worry about...More

The Palazzo Piccolomini was a small jewel in Pienza that was very unexpected. We began in the garden while waiting for our guide to take us into the Palazzo itself. The garden is a classic layout of shrubbery in patterns with rose bushes at the...More

The Palazzo and for that matter the entire village. You'll need about an hour, perhaps an hour and a half to see the town and Palazzo. We just toured the beautiful renaissance gardens and first floor we didn't want to wait for the escorted tour....More

This world heritage site is impeccably restored. The frescoes are amazingly intact and the map of the world painted in the 1500's is something to see. The gardens are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen....peaceful, imaginative, and restorative.

Interesting audio guide and fabulous gardens. Definitely worth seeing. The views are spectacular and the house itself full of history.

It really is worthwhile taking the tour of this wonderful building. Interesting history, artwork, furniture, artefacts and garden, from which there is a glorious view.

This is a great opportunity to see a glimpse of how Pope Pius II lived. A nice audio tour explains each room as a guide escorts you thru the building. Educational, interesting, and only 7 Euro for 1/2+ hr tour

We spent the day in Pienza and loved walking through the public areas of the town. It is kept up so beautifully. One has a feel of timely elegance.
