If you visit TRIM CASTLE in the historical & charismatic heritage town of Trim, it's worth a stroll along the Boyne to the Priory Of St John The Baptist....especially if you get a sunny day. Don't forget Yellow Steeple & the Wellington Monument as well!!

This one is a little bit of a walk too but really cool. You can get around it pretty much and can do some climbing all around if you are adventurous like us. It dates from the 13th century and again, just another super cool...More

We had been in Trim before, but never stopped in here. The Priory has been here since the early 13th century. While it is a ruin, enough of the walls and foundation remain to give you an idea of how large it was.

In exploring the area it was fun to come across this little known site of a hospital, reputed to have been accessed by the Templars that may have returned home to recuperate. An interesting ruin that spins you back in time.

Located on the banks of the Boyne River just downstream from Trim, this was one of the "hospitals" in this area dating from the 1200s to the 1500s. Worth a visit for some pictures and a nice walk from Trim.

We met photographer here to have our portraits taken. The site is absolutely beautiful next to a river and little bridge. It was perfect for what we were doing. However, there was a lot of broken glass littering the ruins. It looks like teenagers hang...More
