Special thanks to the people of France who work at and maintain the museum, memorials and are docents at American cemetaries throughout the D-Day landing beaches and area. The experience is at once exhilarating and overwhelming when the enormity of D-Day is unveiled to you and the number of lives lost on both sides. Make sure this is one of... More

Until I visited this museum, I had not thought about visiting the D-Day landing beaches but now I want to visit all of them. The museum is brilliant and it was quite emotional just standing on the beach.

I was totally amazied by the area, history, and museum! I love WWII histroy and this was on my bucket list. Each beach has its own museum and all are worth the price to gain a better understanding of the scope and effort put forth on that Longest Day.

Utah Beach was the code name for one of the 5 sectors, and most successful, of the allied invasion. The museum is a stark reminder of sacrifice and success. Seeing the artifacts, the amphibious tanks, personal stories, and watching the movie brought me to tears. The monuments erected outside seem sacred. Though beautifully and proudly erected in their splendor they... More

There is so much to see here! I don't think I've ever seen so many artifacts & true to life stories in a museum before. It gets that right completely: there are facts & the human condition. The stories or things you wish your relatives that fought in WWll shared with you. This museum is a must for anyone interested... More

This is quite possibly one of the best museums about the Normandy landings in existence. It's full of facts, true stories, bios and loaded with original artifacts. You can read about men who were instrumental in the operations, their stories, see maps of military operations, even visit a briefing room. You can take some snaps next to actual WW2 vehicles... Takes a look at the D-Day landings from the side of the Germans as well as the allies. Well preserved items from the era and moving stories from those who were there. A must visit if you are in the area.

There are a lot of exhibits with a ton of military equipment that tell the story of the landings on Utah Beach. There is also an overview movie that gives a lot of background on the landings that happened here. The beach is directly behind the museum & there are other outdoor monuments to see. The parking is free &... More
