Omis Cetina Canyon is a natural landscape located on coast, in Dalmatia Region, in Croatia. It is a natural canyon of Cetina River, which flows into the sea in the town called Omis. Really, it is an amazing landscape, where you can see the beach, the river, and the incredible formation of the mountains. If you follow the river, you can go to the mountains and see the "gates to the sea". Really fantastic! It is very recommendable, visit the old town, the beach and follow the river, where you can do aquatic sports or only see it. A hidden gem! Top!

Picked up a boat trip from one of the many being touted by the bridge. They all offer much the same . but you should haggle to get the best price .
You travel up the river canyon for about 40 mins , and disembark at a restaurant/ bar for about 30 mins . We found this to be enough time for us , check with your boatman how long you stop for, some were longer .
The canyon is a beautiful tranquil place, with awesome scenery . We saw turtles, and a lot of bird life .
You can drive a parallel road , but seeing the canyon from the water is special .

I did the Cetina river rafting tour, it is a must do when you are in Omis. There are multiple agencies offering this service, usually it costs 200 kuna per person. Book with one agency, there are then different transfer options. For me, the best was to go by my own to Omis and then waited in front of the agency's address. Their driver picked us up and we drove around 20 minute to the river (it was naive of me to think the tour starts directly in Omis). Then we walked just a bit and were ready to go on the boat. Bigger bags could be then left with the agency members and we just took our small valuables like phone and cash, which were then placed in some kind of large can to be protected of the water. I would advice to come already in swimming clothes and flip flops because you will get wet. It was very fun and refreshing as we had some breaks to go in the water or jump from a cliff. At a moment, we had to walk for around 5 minutes because the river is now too shallow. When we finished, we were taken back by the driver to the center of Omis. No prior knowledge of rafting was necessary, it can just be exhausting on your arms.

A very pretty canyon right outside Omis. We saw boats but we just drove through. Still some amazing scenery, but would have been even more impressive from the water.

Gorgeous canyon found literally within walking distance of Omis. We walked the Central Dalmatian Trail between Omis and Ostrvica along the Cetina River in the middle of summer and didn't encounter a single other tourist! Highly recommended walk

If you want to explore the upper Cetina, go on an organized rafting trip. But if you want to explore the calm waters of the lower Cetina you should rent your own boat. There are quite a few people near the Omis bridge hawking boat rides. I highly recommend renting a red putt-putt from Rafting Croatia Agency ASI 099 633 7499. We started by going under the bridge (duck your head!) and going all the way to Brac. We explored the blue lagoon and the town of Postira. We motored back across the channel and went up the Omis Riviera to see some other beaches, including one where clothing was optional.
We ducked back under the bridge (watch your head) and then boated up the Cetina. Spectacular! You feel like you are on a movie set! This is much more fun in a private boat than going with a group. We stopped at Kastil Slanica for dinner and had the frogs legs. So yummy!
It was a spectacular day at a very reasonable price. Have fun!

It is hard to describe beauty of nature, that is how amazed I am. Me and my boyfriend went to canyon by boat. Trip was 40 minute drive with amazing view all the time. And when you get there you can only say woow. Water is very clean, there are spots near coast where you can enter the river (water is pretty shallow, you can see bottom).

As part of our excursion from a small cruise ship a party of about 24 of us all managed with a little bit of difficulty to embark into a small wooden boat equipped with an outboard motor the boatman in charge looking no more than a teenager. We then set off for a leisurely boat trip along the canyon past magnificent scenery. Very worthwhile doing.

Sorry, I do not know the name as we were a party of some 30 persons and the booking was pre-booked. All boats are run by the owners and I doubt that you would be permitted to rent and drive the boat yourself as you would not have a valid navigational licence. Thus your only choice to rent a small boat near the main bridge and be chauffeur driven and this way he will also be your tour guide. Check with the local tourist office as to the expected price you would expect to pay. Enjoy

we were there visite a Restaurant Where they Made Croatian bread under the metal dome lid It was an old mill had a reservior with fish swimming and I am trying to recommend Io friends making the trip

Hello, me and my husband are looking for a boat trip kano trip or rafting trip. I am 22 weeks pregnant. can I join a rafting, is it wild water? I prefer not, since I don't want to get in the water and hurt the baby. easy kano would be nice.

I would recommend that you get a private boat from the side of the river nearest the town. The other side provides tours and this is more expensive and often includes lunch. The private boats are not scheduled therefore they will go when you want or they will wait a few minutes to get a few more people to join. I cant remember how much it cost but I know it was very cheap as we shared with 4 other people. The boat owner will take you to a cafe/bar and will stop as long as group wishes. A very good experience and good value. Best wishes Tim
