Excellent cable car system brings you to the 3,000 m summit. Fantastic views to distant glaciers. Climate change working to melt the icefields. Some innovative "melt delay" methods being tried.

It really is nice at the top, despite it being partly cloudy when we were there. They cover the ground with white felt for some reason and it gives you a bit of a floaty feeling when walking. Nice. There is a nice cafe there...More

We went skiing early May, skiconditions were good in the morning, obviously in the afternoon the conditions were less good. But that is not a problem when your ski skills are good. We were able to ski to the mid station stop of the ski...More

What a great experience. Arriving by ski-bus from Innsbruck, you are dropped off right at the ticket wicket. Our agent was very fluent and hooked us up with tickets in a flash. Finding the changing area was not so easy. Perhaps that's a difference between...More

It was our first time skiing and the Stubaier Gletscher was a great place to go for us. It allowed the more experienced skiers we were with to go off and do the harder slopes. It also allowed for us beginners to start slowly and...More

Don’t go to Jochdole for lunch! While the ski area is quite nice, the lunch break at the restaurant Jochdole was horrible and made the day very bad. I used to come here many years ago when they were still serving traditional, great Austrian food....More

Good and small gletscher ski-area. Nice selection of broad, long blue and red slopes, few blacks. Ideal pistes for carving and relaxed (high speed) skiing Mostly modern lifts, with canopies. Unfortunately also quite some (old) surface lifts In general good for 3, max 4 days...More

Hello: Stubaier Gletscher is definitely a half-day trip (in honesty, you could do it in 90-minutes if you have a car transportation as opposed to local bus - there is ample parking and the bus will stop right in front of the... More
